Lovely pub with friendly staff and good beer, wine, spirits and food. Food drinks: At the upper end of what we would motmally spend on pub food, but very much worth it. Food and beer were top notch, as was the service. Service: 5 Location: 5

Had to wait 1hr 30 mins for main, kept being told it won't be long, but ridiculous wait. When we complained we were told they would discount the puddings, so on a £150 bill they removed £1 each, **** cheek really. Had driven up from Wales for Sons birthday, so was very annoyed. Stopped off here for lunch after a long 10 mile walk. Decided to have a selection of the 'nibbles ' plates and so pleased we did they were delicious!! We chose the bang bang chicken with a sweet spicy sauce (this was amazing! crispy corn harissa yoghurt, the lamb kofta bites with raita and a side of fries. One of my worst experiences eating out at a Gastro Pub. The food and atmosphere in The Elm is lovely. However, service was non existant. Took at least 30 minutes after seating to take drinks orders. We asked for tap water for the table 4 times (it was brought on the 4th ask, after the meal). They forgot to bring out a portion of chips with a main meal. Food was average. After eating, we wanted to try the Whiskey selection and were provided with the menu great! After 20 minutes, no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks/ the bill so we headed to the bar to settle the bill. The server who brought us the whiskey menu was on his phone at the end of the bar so we don't think they had any intent...

Located in the English countryside, this pub offers beautiful rooms, a nice selection of drinks (in particular around fifty different whiskeys and excellent cuisine. We always reserve the family room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It is very spacious and has a very comfortable bathroom, and a small quiet space between the two. This time we paid 510 euros for 4 people and 3 nights with full English breakfast every morning. This seems perfectly reasonable to me. The food is really excellent, at fair prices, especially since children can enjoy the kids menu with no age limit. We had mussels, fish chips, veal liver, lamb kidneys, cheeseburgers... Everything was absolutely impeccable. The location...
