Unbelievable place ... the best time boat trip on the river .. amazing beer and food could not recommend enough!! Been a few times over the years, Can not wait, back .. Very friendly staff:

A wonderful pub nested. It is very busy and popular, but it has a beautiful view, a great boat rental and its chips are very popular. For a beautiful day on or on a river it is the place to come in this part of the south.

Stunning setting... just wish they had more/better planet animal-friendly (vegan) options. So sad that in this day age they couldn't even offer a coffee with plant milk. Come on team Anchor Inn, you can should do better! Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

A great hidden gem to sit back in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Food was lovely and stunning setting sitting right next to the river. Plenty of parking and outside seating. It was our first visit and won't be our last, lovely to find a proper country pub. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5

I wish to visit this pub for some time, we chose a beautiful sunny day and when we arrived there, there were not many people so we were able to get a table overlooking the river to enjoy our drinks, it is a very beautiful picturesque pub that serves food, lots of parking and boat rental, we went for a short walk along the river bank, fun day. This was our first visit to this lovely pub, and we were impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff. The food was incredible, and the pub is beautifully situated right by the river, offering wonderful views and nearby walking paths. You can even rent a boat to enjoy some time on the river! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon.

This pub by the river is always a charming spot, especially on sunny, dry days. I highly recommend renting a boat for some enjoyable time on the water. It also serves as a fantastic venue for weddings. During my latest visit in September 2023, the food was satisfactory, but it felt a bit pricey for pub fare. As for parking, there’s an open gravel lot with usually plenty of spaces available, plus an adjacent field for overflow during busy events. On average, expect to spend between £10 and £20 per person.

Me and family were having lunch at the Anchor Inn on Saturday 16th September 2023, the pub have a dog friend policy. The Pub have their own dog walking around the grounds freely, my 3 year old went to stroke the dog it turn to bite him. I went inside to speak to the bar staff explained what happened i asked them to take their dog inside, their response was “i’ll try”, no apology, nothing. 2 minutes later the dog is continuing to walk freely outside, with children outside. I then sat down asked to speak to the manager who then came over to the table, i spoke about the situation he apologised and took the dog away, there was no worry or empathy, he didn’t ask how my Son was, seeming not bother...
