"absolutely beautiful Sunday dinner here. we moved on to the off chance, they could impress us and they could thankfully, in the marquee, which is beautiful with looking at the beautiful flower filled entrance into the pub decorated is the dame that welcomed me was very friendly and friendly. our order was quickly taken by a beautiful young waitress who then brought our drinks she was not the least bit fazed by the wespe or the flailing poor of my children, as she put the glasses on the table, so that deserves a medaille in herself! my youngest son and I had the bark meat roast dinner: carving, which was perfectly cooked, huge house made yorkshire and bratkartoffeln, then sharing a generous beside dish of vegetables that were actually cooked were not steamed meat. my other 2 children ordered from the children's menu and both also enjoyed their. I was really impressed by how fast the staff in the pub and the marquee to check either on the service or on the guests, we never felt abandoned or forgotten. 100% return."

"My wife and I went there today for lunch, I had an 8oz Rump steak, which was excellent, my wife had the chicken and bacon salad, again excellent, both were presented well, the meal was tasty, and all the staff and landlord were really friendly, we will have to go back because it was the best meal we've had cooked for us in a very long time"

"We went for a Sunday roast and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Plenty if meat, 5 different veg, potatoes, stuffing, yorkshire (plus crackling and apple sauce with the pork) and a jug of extra gravy. There was more than enough vegetables for us all (We love veg but had to leave some). The gravy was simply delicious. The whole meal was piping hot and the 2 ladies that served us were so on the ball! What lovely ladies and we did not have long to wait for service, the meal, clearing the table or bringing the deserts. Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Yes you have to book as it is very popular, but we will definitely return. Thank you for such a wonderful meal."

"Found this “proper” village pub after a long drive down to Devon from Yorkshire. What was meant to be a quick bite to eat turned into a full evening of food, drinks and entertainment. Landlady and all of the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly, food was great and good value. Added bonus, we were asked if we wanted to join the weekly quiz night. While we didn’t win, it was a really fun night, obviously everyone else in the pub was local but we were made to feel just as welcome as those who are there every weekend. Would definitely recommend and would revisit if back 8n the area in future."
