"this was a surprisingly large place for a small village, looking for it exactly on the website for opening times. we came to dinner and got good quality eating served by pleasant workers then stayed for pint through the fire before they returned. I think they have a limit to some of the foods, certain things like some of the specials ran fast, I don't know whether this is regular or one. I had a Cajun chicken burger who was good, not too dry, my wife had a nice burger who is always a little hit or miss, unfortunately this time was a miss, not very tasteful (in hint should have ordered fish and chips) restaurant and bar were neat and well managed by beautiful workers. would come back for a longer session thanks for us"

Had a lovely bite to eat here. Lucky enough on a sunny spring day so had a chance to eat outside. Inside looked amazing also! Friendly staff and good grub

came to dinner here and it was absolutely beautiful. we have not stayed, so can not comment accommodation. in any case to eat. the chef has made good to the smallest details, as to home made tarter sauce.

It's a great local restaurant with good food and friendly staff. The location is to die for, historic building in an absolutely fabulous setting. We didn't know it was community owned which makes it all the more special given the high quality.

we only came to black bulls for dinner, the customer service was excellent and despite short personals they could later book a table for us. I feel that the staff went over and over the service to help. Beyond that, the food we ordered was amazing and fresh would recommend to everyone, it is like a hidden cat

We ended up here for a midweek stay after a disastrous booking elsewhere, and what a find we stumbled upon. Friendly staff and fantastic food we had the chicken the first night and the fish and chips and burger the second, and then sticky toffee pudding which was the best I've ever had. There's also a direct bus from Glasgow to Gartmore so I'm sure we'll be back! A lovely experience.
