Was so looking forward to a meal here at the weekend! The food was undercooked and the customer service was dreadful in relation to this matter ! Wound not recommended this place to anyone !

Good choice of food with some really good dishes found on the specials board. These change on a daily basis so there will always be a new dish to try. Good selection of wines etc. Always worth a visit.

As soon as the plate was put on the table that was the word that came to mind the Yorkshire pudding was black. The roast potato was two days older than me. I had To leave before I cried with disappointment my husband had his weekly intake of salt with his gammon. Stake Speisekarte ansehen

The customer services is this establishment was terrible . After our party of 4 had finished our initial drink no one came throughout our meal to offer us anymore there were no staff in the restaurant at all one of our party walked to the local coop and bought a bottle of wine and we drank that with our meal the service was so bad no one noticed. !!

Tempted by sign outside claiming award winning breakfast being served within. Average quality. Full Scottish grill got you you 1 egg, 1 sausage, spoonful of sliced mushrooms, 2 bacon, slice of haggis, half tomato, potato bread, beans and 1slice of toast This cost £11.50 plus £2.15 for coffee Perhaps the award was for the most expensive breakfast in the Borders

Faced with many Googled choices we picked this one only because we liked the website! And boy, we were not disappointed. Super, varied menu (see website) excellently cooked and presented, and totally at variance with the decor (distressed floor, distressed wall panelling, distressed furniture). The got our family trip to Scotland after worries over Covid, this was our last meal in Scotland and we are all so glad to have eaten here. The 10oz Scotch Sirloin was absolutely incredible, and would highly recommend to anyone visiting or in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful, even recommended the best whiskey options for me which was incredibly smooth. We will definitely be coming back! Couldn’t recommend enough, you will enjoy the food and service without fail.

After reading some previous reviews, I was slightly worried, but I can confidently say that the negative reviews are unfounded. While the menu selection was limited, the three of us tried different main dishes and found them all to be delicious. Fortunately, my wife's haddock and chips came in a generous portion, so I had to assist her in finishing it. It was a tough job! The batter was crispy and the chips were triple cooked. The service was sufficient, though a bit slow, but we weren't in a rush. The atmosphere was pleasant and the prices were fair.

I had previously enjoyed lunch at this hotel, so I decided to try their award-winning breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were told to go to the bistro for breakfast, but after waiting for 15 minutes without any service, we almost left. I finally found someone at reception who apologized for the delay and explained that there should have been two waitresses on duty. When the waitress finally arrived, she seemed uninterested and did not apologize for the wait. The breakfast itself was mediocre. My husband's mushroom omelette was tasty but lacked enough mushrooms.
