"Visited 06/12/23 for Christmas dinner (15 guests). We were all seated on time and dinner was served at the time stated. Absolutely first class food, piping hot and plenty of it! Excellent atmosphere in this pub, it was busy but the incredibly friendly staff coped extremely well. Without hesitation I would recommend this venue for food and a great selection of drinks. Price per person: £20–30"

"Just had a fabulous valentine takeaway meal for 2, including 2 sausages for the dogs and a bottle of Prosecco. Food was hot, tasty and really well presented, even in a card board box. Lovely trio of desserts to try. Not eaten from here before and the new owners have only had it 8 weeks so well done for being so brave . If today’s food is anything to go by, should be a great success . Looking forward to the day we can and eat in the restaurant."

"We had a group of 9 attend for a leavers dinner for one of my colleagues. The place looks lovely, food sounds lovely and it was my first visit to Saracens head and I was quite excited. We sat, we ordered and the food came out relatively quickly, kudos! Things went downhill rapidly from there! As it was a leavers dinner, we had presents and gifts for one of the diners, we took photos and it was going really well!! We were then approached by the female bar manager, very rudely in fact, and asked that we deleted the picture as one had a server in...no problem at all, I understand and it was deleted! The issue we had was when she approached it was a telling off to say the least, we were greeted with, ' that picture needs deleting, she 's underage! There was no, excuse me, I can see you 're having a lovely time but that picture you taken, could you delete it please? She aired to the whole pub, very abruptly and rude that we taking pictures of underage girls! Absolutely disgusting from a restaurant/pub that specialises in service!! It was a fantastic experience up until that point and we felt so embarrassed that we left the venue! The bar manager needs some serious service and communication skills! I will not be back and I 'll word of mouth my experience to the whole of Stafford and the surrounding areas!...we spent nearly £300 and was treat appallingly!"

"Visited with our friends on a Friday night. This was our first but will not be our last. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with the food genuine in both quality and quality. Complements to the chefs for supporting such a large menu including daily specials. The beer is good and the attention by both Gwyn and Kay was very great. They know how to look after their beers, keeping the delivery system properly and professionally kept. Thanks for a great evening, see you again soon."

"Upon arrival to the infamous Clifford Arms, located on the main road that travels through central Great Haywood. Whilst standing outside the ancient establishment, a demonic voice beckoned me towards the old fashioned building; with creamy white stripes which ran down the exterior of the building. Breaking up the white stripes was the occasional pillar of black worn timber framing the building. Entering the building i was greeted by a rather flabby gentleman who was perhaps aged in his late sixties. The Gentleman guided me towards a tree stump with multiple rows of pegs scented like a glorious voyage on the high seas scattered about it, where i deposited my worn and tattered coat for it to rest and simmer amongst the modern coats. However, what i found the most peculiar was a damp and soggy welly rack where i was requested to leave my boots. After leaving my clothing by the front door, I was guided towards a natural table with a slight wobble to it that aggressively and violently flung any glass of liquid across the room. after a noticeably short wait i was greeted by a group of sixteen children who surrounded me and demanded my order. I requested a steak and ale pie from the amazing chef working inside of the kitchen. After providing my order to the children a demonic snarl was heard coming from behind the bar and seconds later a small and bruised child ran out with a plate (made from browned china). the plate was placed down in front of me and spun 8 times until the child was satisfied whit the direction at which the pie was facing. After slicing into the golden pie a foul stench was smelt similar to that of blue-green algae which sits on the surface of the ocean (which just so happens to be my favourite scent). upon stuffing half of the cold pie into my mouth, I bit into a tuft of flavourful fur which got stuck into my teeth and wound around my teeth like wire. After finishing my delightful meal i noticed that the room was of course swaying as if i was sailing on the high seas during a day with a rather aggressive wave pattern; this off course was the pinnacle of my experience and took me back to the joys of my youth when i frequently sailed along the seas. Overall, this was a lovely experience and i would definitely return at a later date. Kind regards, Admiral Shirley"
