As a restaurant located on the pier, we were skeptical about the prices and menu options, but we were pleasantly surprised. The seabass with vegetables was exceptional - perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and incredibly tasty. The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. Speisekarte ansehen

The restaurant was very busy as it was half term so it took a while for our order to arrive, my young son was getting fed up. One dish was slightly incorrect but was immediately corrected. The restaurant staff were very polite and helpful. However, the Fish Finger Sandwich was disappointing. Two very tiny pieces of fish cooked in batter that was hard and oily, difficult the eat. I would have sent it back but the thought of waiting longer put me off. Not sure I would go back.

Visited with friends on a Sunday lunch time. We all chose specials from the Specials board. Unfortunately when the Crab sandwiches arrived (Chosen by three) the bread was stale. The meals were changed and were much better on return with fresh bread but not a lot of filling. Two of us had roast pork but we were disapointed with the size of portion. No crackling or apple sauce. Overall we felt the meals were overpriced and the standard below what I would have expected for the price.

I never thought I would have to write this review, as my family has been loyal customers of the Boardwalk for years, but our experience today was a complete disaster. It took 50 minutes to receive 2 chicken caesar salads (one gluten-free), and when they finally arrived, the chicken was dry and the salads were inadequately dressed. The meals were so unappetizing that we couldn't finish them, and after voicing our complaints, the front-of-house manager kindly did not charge us for the meals. It seemed like the chef had no interest in making a proper salad. While other diners seemed to enjoy their meals, ours fell far below par. I don’t know if it’s because this cafe restaurant is situated on the pier, which leads me to think that it’s a low quality touristy place, but I keep being surprised by the quality of the food. I’ve now been here a few times in the last three or four years, always with family, and never been disappointed. On this occasion, we were a group of three adults and two children and, again, we all had an excellent meal. I had chicken caesar salad which was very tasty. We chose to dine at this restaurant on Saturday the 21st because they offered Gluten Free fish and chips. From the moment we entered, the staff were attentive and helpful. When I mentioned my gluten-free dietary needs, they went above and beyond to accommodate me, even offering gluten-free vinegar which I have never been offered anywhere else. It was quiet at 5pm due to the end of storm Babet, so we had the option to choose where to sit. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy gluten-free food with a view of the sea. A resident who loves our pier but had not visited lately due to illness was saddened when my Husband and I visited yesterday we moved here in 2008 and have always thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the pier usually for a meal at The Boardwalk restaurant so grateful and proud (as we always told non residents) how fortunate we are to have such a fabulous pier not 2 minutes from our home. When I heard it had been taken over by hoteliers I thought that could only be a good thing as if anything they would improve it. How wrong I was, shocked and saddened by the lack lustre shabby look in need of a paint in most places! Now to the food, so disappointing, what has happened, you can't even get a scone...
