"Our stay at the Brownsville was beyond exceptional! Dita and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make sure to accommodate us with every need without any pressure and with constant kindness. Due to family emergencies we had to make changes to our itinerary while we were traveling in the UK EU and somehow Dita managed to find accommodations for us working within our schedule, as well as checking at the other property/pub/hotel they own across Clissold park. Everyone from the bartenders managers at the pub, the cleaning staff, the managers Dita and Ella were ALWAYS completely available to any request with a smile on their face. We checked in a number of three times so we had the chance to experience 2 different rooms at The Brownwood. The smaller rooms were clean, recently built and renovated and perfect with adequate pricing. The larger rooms were also modern and recently renovated and incredibly tasteful, like having a private loft, something like we’ve never experienced before at a “bed-and-breakfast“ type of establishment in a metropolis like London. Despite the pub being just downstairs on the first and second floor and the rooms being on the third floor, you couldn’t hear a pin drop when you were in the room and we were able to sleep comfortably without hearing any noise whatsoever. The location of the pub/hotel is simply fantastic with many buses just across the street to get you anywhere in London within 15-30 minutes as well as a 7 minute walk away from the London Underground. Additionally Clissold Park is a gem and is literally across the street from the location of The Brownswood. The neighborhood was great with plenty of stores and tra whether you’re looking for a chemist or a 24 hour deli or a variety of excellent cuisines. A short walk away from the lovely neighborhood of Highbury and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and lovely Stoke Newington which is literally just across the park. The Brownswood’s backyard/beer garden was also exceptional, relaxing with a pleasant laid back crowd and excellent to take a break during the day for a drink or to have a night cap later in the evening, and their menus for all breakfast lunch and dinner were all fantastic as well, suitable to variety of pallets with many dishes to choose from and deliciously prepared. We will absolutely return to The Brownswood the next time we are in London without any doubt! Thanks again to everyone in the staff and in particular to Dita and Ella for making us feel at home during our stay!"

This pub never lets me impress. Fast and good food. Fantastic beer garden and upper floor. Politics and friendly staff. I'm full of nothing but praise!

This is our favourite pub for Sunday roasts and also our regular watering hole after climbing at the Castle. It gets busy on Friday nights, so worth booking if you can plan ahead. Excellent range of Sunday roasts including veggie options.

Went here with my family for a Sunday dinner, we were not disappointed. I had the lab shoulders comes its roasr potatoes, red cabbage, huge Yorkshire pudding, green beans and gravy The cabbage has a sweet cinnamon taste. Very unique and nice. Speisekarte ansehen

Lucky to have The Brownswood as my local. Decent range of drinks inc real ales, wines and ciders. Food is always very good, try the burger! Friendly management and regular themed nights. Their pub quiz on a Wednesday is very popular so book ahead!

We tried all the roasts on site and that must be the best! Absolutely delicious, really great portion size, brilliant value for money and wonderful staff. Mike, the manager, is so friendly and personal what keeps us coming back. Could not recommend.

The Brownswood has become my favourite local pub (sorry Clissold). Massive plus they don't show sports. It's got more like family vibes. Excellent service, good beer selection and I've always had a lovely dinner here, vegan or non vegan. Steak and Ale pie, vegan beyond meat burger or Sunday roast, you can't go wrong with anything! we're just living around the corner and we're here a couple times. mainly sundays! the staff is very nice and helpful. the sunday roast was great! absolutely delicious and perfect to heal a kater. we didn't have to wait long! I had the child's share that was a lot of food, followed by the apple crumb! they also have an outside area! perfect pub for a relaxed and cool together and a decent pub food!

I came here after an intense work at the castle climbing centre. we were looking for a high protein food as well as good food and many of the mountaineers said that this is the place to go. on a Sunday we got the luxury roastus of thes and they had many possibilities for what we wanted, including pork, bark, lamb and a veggie option. concerning the drinks, they have a huge series of apple wines, beer and wee, which are filled and cast, the main dinner room is upstairs and when we went after the waiting 20 minutes, we were shown on a table. there's no waiter service, so if you went up, you'll have to go down and down.
