The Carden Arms - Speisekarte

A night's stop. Food was superb, pub atmosphere lovely and my room was amazing. I was going to stay in a local hotel (similar name) no doubt generically nice but so glad I didn't. My advice, stay here!

Beautiful pub just outside of Chester, our food was delicious and staff were so welcoming. Yorkshire puddings with our roast dinner were huge and my son’s steak was “so so good mum!”. Booked again for Mother’s Day, can’t wait!

The location is a great weekend venue, rooms are luxurious and full of beautiful antique furniture and surroundings. The bar is a real comfortable “locals” venue but everyone is so welcoming. The restaurant is great and service excellent.

Stayed for 2 nights to attend an event nearby. A very busy and lively 'local ' pub, an old coaching inn renovated in a most interesting way without loosing its essential character. Staff all friendly and efficient. Breakfasts and dinner all good.

We stayed here for I night Room was simple but perfectly suitable Bathroom and shower excellent with lots of hot water We had dinner and breakfast and both were lovely Portions large , well cooked and well presented And the staff were so nice and friendly and gave great service We would definitely stay again

A bustling old school but updated, nice country pub, very friendly and attentive staff and the best fish and chips, steak, and burger going not just tasty, well cooked and with lovely details, but big portions and good value too. We had a relaxed family meal in a pleasant and comfortable dining area for £30 each for two courses and drinks.

I stayed at the Carden Arms for three nights. My single room was quite small but it was clean, everything worked, the bed was comfortable and at night it was very quiet, so I slept well all three nights. A small but healthy continental breakfast was provided in the morning and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would happily go back again, many thanks.

Booked the single room. Well appointed and cosy. Good bed and shower was roomy and powerful. I had an evening meal which was very good. Minus points were check in was from 4 and nobody at the pub untill 4.30 and the breakfast was from 8 and we were all waiting at 8.15 when the lady arrived. It was noted all guests were not happy as we all needed to be away early. Other than those points it was very good.

This pub could be so much better. Interiors are grim and shabby (peeling plaster on walls and ripped fabrics on chairs are not appealing at all). The dining area is a 1970s brown and is cold and without atmosphere. Food is average which is a shame as the service is good. The food we ordered was well below average being both tasteless and unimaginative. A big menu shake up with some better quality ingredients and better presentation would go a long, long way but until that happens and the place puts some money into its interiors we would not go back.
