"I had high expectations for this restaurant based on the positive reviews I had heard, but I don't think I will be returning unless there are major changes in the service. The first waiter seemed in a rush, trying to take our food order before even asking about drinks. It was a bit strange considering the restaurant was not busy. When the starters arrived, there was confusion among the staff about which table they were for. The main courses were brought out while we were still eating our starters, and the server didn't even know what dish he was holding. The lack of attention to detail and communication was disappointing. The food was good, but the service really let it down. Staff were not very attentive or polite, as we were not even acknowledged when we left."

"Incredible value for money and the food was very tasty too. Not the most appealing to look at from the outside but the inside is very cosy and nicely decorated. Polite waiting staff and very prompt service. Visit their website for special offers we were torn between 3 course lunch for £9.95 and a special Groupon offer available at the time, but either way you won't be disappointed. Was very quiet during the day and the lunch menu time, could have done with a bit of atmosphere but made for very comfortable dining. Will definitely return when in Greenock again!"

"nice lunch at the Café-Gatten had a delicious risotto (which I was very nice next time) and I had the cattle burger who was moistly juicy. only cometar would have done with a Wee salad to finish the plate with the cattleburger, it came with small handful of fries small tub of coleslaw, but pate still saw a bit naked was really nice, although caramelized tweepers on the top yum! will be back."

"Totally terrific!!! The four of us ordered 3 mains, a spinach dish (saag paneer), rice, pappadom, chana puri, lamb ragan josh, butter chicken and more!! Gorgeous and delicious!! The garlic naan was extraordinary. Some of us were not Indian food fans But we are now!!! “For the first time of Indian food, it was amazing!!” Be sure to come to this place. They had a table for us on a crowded night. The atmosphere was calm and lovely. Food: 5"

"I booked a birthday treat for my daughter and grandson at the Albany because of the great reviews for the Afternoon Tea and the promise of a Vegan- Friendly menu. Two were to have Afternoon Tea and I the would choose from the lunch menu....We started with teas and coffee but were told that there were no alternative milks available. These are on every supermarket shelf! There was I single vegan option on the lunch menu, a peppers and coleslaw wrap with salad. I was informed that there was no vegan coleslaw available so I went ahead with a pepper wrap with salad. It was no more than adequate. minutes after I was served with my lunch my daughter had to ask where the Afternoon Teas were. They had been forgotten. When they arrived, with apologies, they were unremarkable. I have had Afternoon Teas in several restaurants and this was easily the poorest. The staff were lovely but no discount was offered. A most disappointing experience all round. We will not return."
