Just called in for drinks Sat in the beer garden, and quite busy for midweek. The barman was very nice and friendly. Nice for a quiet drink

Me and my boyfriend went to this lovely pub on Saturday evening and we had the best pizza and best experience ever. The atmosphere was great and very friendly. Highly recommended!

I went to this place for my upcoming birthday. The place is great and the food is very tasty. One of my family members said that it was the best fish they ever had. The dessert was very tasty as well. I liked how their was a room in the garden dedicated to making pizza.

Unwelcoming and unfriendly staff. New to area and thought this might be a fun local, not the case. Other customers left the pub and said thanks goodbye but were ignored. So sad as many establishments are going through a tough time. They seem to cater for tours and trips .One off visits.

Lovely, friendly place with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The Sunday roast was excellent, as was the lemon cheesecake to follow. My partner and I saw this pub en route to a campsite we were staying at. Decided to see if they had a spare table for 2 for a Sunday Roast. They were able to oblige and we chose starters of whitebait /creamy garlic mushrooms followed by Roast Beef/Roast Pork. It was one of the best Roast lunches I've ever had. It was so fresh and tasty. No frozen veg!! The beer was also good and the landlord friendly. We would definitely visit again when we're in the area.

Nice Friendly Pub, Warm And Welcoming And Enjoyable, Music Was On In The Background At A Nice Level. The Fire Going Made It Looker Proper Nice With The Added Candles Around The Room Which Also Gave It That Welcoming Vibe. The Draught Beer Is Really Refreshing And Enjoyable, Also My Dad Was Very Impressed With The Real Ale Selection And How They Looked And Tasted. I Have to Say Tho Sam Literally Works his But Off At That Pub And Definitely Looks After The Beer Never Had A Bad Pint. Dined here with a mate after a 40 mile bike. We were hungry and thirsty and weren't in the mood for anything fancy. The Chequers delivered. We went into some detail with Dom who looked after us as to whether the steak and ale pie was a proper pie with pastry all round or merely a pretend pie, namely a bowel of stew with a bit of puff pastry chucked onto top. Dom assured us that the pie was a proper pie and it did not disappoint when it arrived. Just a couple of niggles, the veg that came with the pie was just a small ramakin of peas although I'm sure a side order of veg was available on the sides menu had I have looked.
