I had booked a table for 7 people for Sunday dinner. After I was on an hour to get happy, I asked myself to see if there was a chance to postpone my booking a little later to say that I have no table. I said they had my reservation, but there was no place. Speisekarte ansehen

I had booked a table for 7 people for Sunday lunch. After driving for over an hour to get to cuckmere luckily I rang to see if there was any chance of moving my booking to a little later to be told that I didn't have a table. I was told they had my reservation but there was no space.

As a comfortable pub after a long walk this place fits the bill but doesn't quite deliver on cosy ambience or quality food. Everything form the lack of menu options available to the lackluster service from some staff was a bit of a disappointment as I wanted to enjoy it much more. Free mini pud deal via the restaurant website a bonus but didn't quite save the day!

food was below average compared to other times we’ve been there. Mu husband had Wagyu burger which was tiny and way overcooked. I had steak and ale pie which was very average. food took way too long to come out we had to ask several times and still waited unacceptable levels. booked table before, as did not want to wait as I had a knee replacement a few weeks before. when we arrived, it was very busy, but we said we had to wait until the manager checked our booking and set us up. We have to wait ten minutes before we get to our table. I know that there was a very complex time and that there are now some tables that need a service, but this time I was disappointed with the service. we've already eaten here, and even if the service was busy was never so slow. Perhaps it could be possible that other server people and the manager could sit because this would have been much better. This was probably the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant. I cannot believe that a professional chef was in the kitchen if there was he or she should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. The Christmas menu looked excellent with lots of choice however a lot of items were not available including Christmas Pudding! The starter arrived without any dressing, the main course of beef was thrown on the plate with over cooked carrots, burnt sprouts and missing the dumplings it was inedible. The main course was deducted from the bill but considering the price being charged for this disgusting three course meal it was still overpriced. I had made a reservation in advance as I didn't want to wait long due to my recent knee replacement surgery. Upon arrival, the restaurant was very busy and we were informed that we needed to wait for the manager to confirm our booking and seat us. We waited for about ten minutes before being seated. Despite the busy period and the addition of outdoor tables needing attention, I was disappointed with the service this time. We have dined here before and even during busy times, the service was never as slow as it was on this occasion.
