The Fisherman's Wife

Came for takeaway fish and chips. Fish was fresh and chips were nice. The portion was very big for one as there was a lot of chips. Staff was very nice and welcome. Would love to come back again!

You can only eat their main menu inside and their takeaway menu outside, so a family of 4 with a baby and a dog couldn’t eat here because they weren’t flexible enough to bring the food outside. No vegetarian options

A terrible shame this long-standing and very popular local business have had to close down and relocate to much smaller premises because of John Lewis. Despite the move, and the consequent redundancies, they are still serving up quality fish and chips to the good people...

While the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the coast, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the food compared to other restaurants and online reviews. The lobster meat was dry and lacked enough garlic butter for my taste. The seafood bouillabaisse starter was lacking in flavor and variety of seafood. Although it was unfortunate that this longtime fish and chip shop had to move due to pressure from upscale businesses and the city council, they are now situated in the Kirkgate Market. The staff continues to provide excellent service and the food remains delicious. Despite the changes, this chippy remains a favorite among locals and is definitely the top choice for fish and chips in Leeds city center.

The restaurant shop is no longer in operation, but has moved inside the indoor market. It is now situated in an open space surrounded by market stalls, with shoppers passing by as you eat. The new setup is quite different from before. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find out that the fisherman's wife had closed and relocated. The tables and chairs are now in the open space, and people are constantly walking by. Personally, I do not prefer these changes.

Called during the week at lunch time so a bit of a queue but two serving were on the ball and soon got served, fish and chips at £7-50 a bit over priced for take away Fish and chips compared to others with equal or better food in Yorkshire. The fish was cooked perfect with crisp batter, the chips were not bad but I've had better although I would say most fish shops seem to have chips not has good has other fast food outlets. I knocked a point off because of the price but four and a half would be fare.. Speisekarte ansehen
