"Located in a charming Medieval village, Hathaways is a small intimate restaurant that is a hidden gem. Sandro is in the kitchen cooking while Kasia takes care of the front of the house, making it a cozy and personalized dining experience. Despite not having visited in 5 years, we were pleased to see that they had managed to weather the lockdown and still maintained their high standards. The food was once again beautifully cooked and creatively presented. With only 4 or 5 tables available and open for dinner only on weekdays, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance."

"Formerly known as BORN APPETIT, this restaurant is one of the most well-managed, cleanest, and friendliest places we have visited in a long time! It is definitely worth a visit. The staff and atmosphere were delightful, the decor was fun and interesting with an eclectic mix. The restaurant is child and dog friendly, with welcoming and attentive staff. We enjoyed cream teas followed by a gin tasting, which was a unique and enjoyable experience. The restaurant also has a small gift shop where you can taste locally sourced gin and rum. The food prices were the best in the village and we witnessed freshly cooked meals being served to visitors who ordered specials of the day. There are plenty of eating options in this small village, but we are glad we read TripAdvisor reviews and found this gem. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it."

"Absolutely amazing. The service to food and atmosphere is at such a high standard yet still feels personal and family oriented. There was such intricate care in quality and presentation of the food, each plate feels like it has been personally made just for you and ‘not another diner’. I also have to mention the creativity that has gone into making the beautiful plates with these incredible flavours along with the hospitality is what sets this restaurant aside from others. Overall the experience was just amazing, and I hope this review can really stress how wonderful the restaurant is- from the hospitality from staff, the creativity and cooking from the chefs and the amazing owners. "We visited The Wheelhouse early one morning and were pleased to find that it was open before most other cafes in the area. We felt very welcome and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with tea served in a pot. We regret not having enough room to try their tempting cakes and scones. If you're in Minehead, make sure to stop by The Wheelhouse for a satisfying break. You won't be disappointed."

"My fiancé Paul and myself had a very enjoyable lunch in Toucan, as part of our day trip to Minehead. Paul, a staunch meat eater, opted for the 3 bean chilli with sweet potato fries with cheese plus caramel latte. Myself, a long time vegetarian, opted for the lentil soup with sausage with caramelised onion sandwich plus breakfast tea. Food and drinks both arrived promptly after friendly and relaxed service. Temperature of food and presentation were both lovely. I think it’s also worth mentioning that self-service chilled water is available free if so desired. We both thoroughly enjoyed our Toucan lunch today. Paul had to finish my sandwich as I was so full! Toilets up slightly steep staircase but were spacious and clean with plenty of toilet paper, soap and hot water. I also liked the fact that we were given a loyalty card for hot drinks as it all adds up. Price wise, I’d say middle of the road but fair when you consider the portion size and food quality. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today in Toucans. We will certainly return!"
