"this is the quintessential English pub, the pub serves up a range of comfort food, from traditional pub classics to more inventive dishes. During my visit, I sampled the fish and chips, a staple done exceptionally well, with a perfect balance of crispy and tender elements. Service is great, with the staff demonstrating genuine hospitality, the welcoming attitude of the staff contributes to a relaxed and enjoyable visit. places like this are few and far between, I'm a big supporter of saving our traditional English pubs, although the weather was bad when I visited the fires were roaring and I noted a large beer garden with a large kids play area will be amazing in summer. so come on people support your local businesses before its too late."

Was blown away but this little pub! It is filled with character and the beer garden was amazing. The food was divine and I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Sunday lunch with friends in the pub garden. Such a lovely relaxing afternoon, the food was delicious and service fantastic. Very friendly, welcoming and hard-working staff. Thank you, we'll be back soon!

Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, food that's well cooked, tasty and well presented, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. Pork tenderloin, beef tagietelle and fish cake recommended by our party. The mixed berry crumble with custard is amazing, well worth ordering.

WOW! What a treat! I don’t know what this lady is talking about below….. I had a fabulous baguette filled to the brim with fillings, salad and even a bit of salad on the side! I did treat myself to extra chips on the side thinking I would need them…. I definitely didn’t The attentive staff were smashing I couldn’t fault my visit at all. Thank you Green man!!! I will be back!

Firstly would like to thank Emily and Liam for the outstanding hospitality during my visit to the green man, The pie from the specials board did not disappoint! It was amazing, my partner decided on the fish and chips, which was massive and was delicious. Compliments to the chef for the food, didn’t get his name unfortunately or photos of the food! Will defiantly be back again soon

Popped into The Green Man for a couple after a long glorious day at Stanlake. Not eaten there in ages but as I was starving and I heard, Emily the new manager, ask for a hamburger with cheese I just had to double up. What a pleasant surprise it was MASSIVE and not a massive price tag, comparatively speaking, either! I couldn't even finish it and was absolutely starving so well done .

The new owners Wez an Victoria have turned this pub around...amazing menu and well priced, all food home cooked and gastro style...inside stunning and kept traditional an quirky to reflect it's age an outside space huge...massive kids area with recently installed play area in a wooded area..dog friendly too..what more could you want .Pay a visit you won't be disappointed, customer service an staff are amazing...

Great, friendly and helpful new owners (since April 2023 I think) always make us feel welcome. Old world character to this historic place, without being stuffy or formal and just a very relaxing place to enjoy an evening out. Ales are well kept the Breakspear is a winner. Added to this, the food is fantastic. The specials board is always top notch but the whole menu is high quality food without being over-priced. Would recommend for groups or just a quiet drink.
