"One of the rudest owners I have ever met. I booked by phone, arrived with my girlfriend and was greeted by the owner, shown my table and we sat down. After about 5 minutes I had a phone call on my mobile from the owner reminding me I have a table booked and why I hadn 't turned up yet, I said I am already here, you have just sat me down The call was then ended and I was sat there confused. Really nice food but ruined by hearing the manager ringing up everyone that hadn 't arrived in time and lambasting them over the phone from behind the bar. I understand it must be really infuriating people not turning up once they have booked, but shouting at them over the phone is not going to make them want to come ever again."

The restaurant has amazing food, service, and interior. However, the steak was cooked to medium instead of medium rare. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere are rated 4 out of 5.

We arrived at the pub with our pre-booked party of 13 and found the place completely empty. We enjoyed a delicious pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord and a proper steak and ale pie for lunch. The price per person was between £10-£20. The food and service both received a rating of 4, while the atmosphere was a 3. There was plenty of parking available, with free parking in the lot.

The food was really nice some unusual dishes but what spoilt it was the attitude of the person who served us. I'm not sure if he was the manager or the owner but it was as if he was doing us a favour by even serving us. I've never been in a place and made to feel so unwelcome before. It's a shame as I would have definitely gone back for the food but not with that person serving us. Price per person: £20–30

Lovely pub with very relaxed atmosphere. The food was very tasty, well presented, and the portions were large, accompanied by a good English beer. The personnel was kind during dinner, and the owner of the pub makes sure everything is ok. At closure time, he was patient to wait for the patrons to finish their drink and not usher them quickly out as happens in other places. And when we were stood up by our taxi, he event went so far to give us a ride to our nearby hotel! This extremely kind gesture shows how much he cares about his patrons. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options, and even some vegan options.

"I have had a few take away meals from The Vine Spice and enjoyed them, so my wife and I treated friends to a meal at the restaurant there. Sadly and surprisingly I was extremely disappointed. One of our friend 's found that the chicken in their meal was undercooked (it was still pale pink and highlighted this to staff. It was taken away and a replacement given. The chicken in this was cooked fine, but the sauce was now much more watery and lacked flavour due to this (the other had a nice, thick creamy sauce . My wife and I are both vegan and member of staff taking our order didn 't seem too sure what this meant. During our meal, we had 3 different members of staff coming up asking us the same questions rather than one member of staff being given responsibility for this role. All the staff were very polite, but it was a little disconcerting to be trying to have a conversation only for another member of staff interrupt to ask a question asked a few minutes previously (e.g. whether everything was alright, whether we required any more drink etc. Our vegan curries had several hard pieces of veg (we don 't overcook our veg and enjoy a slight bite to them, but numerous bits of veg were virtually raw and must 've been chucked into the sauce moments before dishing up and my wife found some onion with the root still attached. Also, I did find the meal to be expensive for what you get. Given this experience, I won 't be getting any more meals from The Vine Spice ."

"I haven’t had Thai food for a while and was staying nearby in the local area. The Blueberry looks like your typical country pub from the outside. Inside though, at the rear of the pub is Chor Muang Thai Gastro. This is more like it, authentic Thai food made by Thai chefs. What a delight to find a gastro pub in a sleepy village in the Oxfordshire countryside. I was seated at 6 pm on a Friday evening, as usual I never booked, just took a chance. Perfect timing as only one table was occupied, a party of five who were dining in the top far corner of the restaurant. For the starter, I ordered the honey pork marinated in coriander, soya sauce, palm sugar and honey. It came with a tangy chilli dip. For the main, the red curry with duck which had a rich fruity taste from lychee, pineapple, cherry tomatoes and basil. Sticky rice was the perfect accompaniment. Finally the Thai pancake with coconut ice cream and mixed berry compote sauce for desert. The service was excellent and the staff very professional, attentive and welcoming. I had Madri lager brought from the pub to my table. I was informed they also had bottles of Singha. However, I opted for the on trend lager of the moment. The ambiance, décor and lighting was perfect. The food tasted delicious, no need for details, just to say was faultless. As I was finishing my pancake, the restaurant was starting to get busy. Couples, families were being shown their tables they had booked. So it was perfect timing, for me to settle my bill and tip the waitress. I headed to the bar still holding my second glass of Madrid's finest lager. The staff greeted you with a smile and were very friendly. My only gripe was a large screen showing horse racing which nobody was paying attention to. A gastro pub like this is a place for conversation and banter. The screen just kills the vibe, totally unnecessary. Also two large red setters in the pub taking up loads of room. They almost knock customers over. It's very cosy, people were playing cards which I loved. Locals chatted on a large round table near the window and two twenty somethings sat on bar stools talking nonsense. A great start to the weekend, recommended."
