"I can't start explaining how amazing this place is! from the minute we went, owners william was like a soothing influence that wanted us to stay forever. besides its amazing service and love for detail was eating exemplary....after eating in many allegedly famous Thai restaurants in various countries this place has thrown them all away. they are worth a 4 hours drive and must be on their bucket list. "This tea room is delightful, offering a wide variety of loose leaf teas that can also be purchased in their tea shop. Each tea order includes a timer to ensure proper brewing. The crumpets with honey were exceptionally tasty. It was refreshing to see that everything was plastic-free, with honey served in a dish accompanied by a metal spoon. COVID-19 safety measures are in place, including temperature checks before seating guests. This traditional tea room in Alnwick is a must-visit."

"During our week in Alnwick, we dined at this restaurant three times. The first time, we hadn't made a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. We were glad they did because we didn't want to miss out on this place. They have a wonderful selection of wines by the glass, including red, white, and rosé, and everything we tried was fantastic. I would definitely recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was always busy, and it's easy to see why. The prices were reasonable, and I highly recommend this place for delicious food and excellent service."

"My wife and I were starving on the Northumberland coast (known for its kippers and crab sandwiches, but not its vegan options) so we popped into Alnwick and happened to walk past the Black Swan. It is an old pub, with an interesting building and clearly popular with locals. We were looking for food around 5pm, which was lucky as the place was fully booked later (reduced capacity during COVID-19). We were pleased to see more than one vegan option on the menu. I had deep fried vegan cheese to start with, which was delicious and just the right size. Both my wife and I had the courgetti bolognese (spag bol with spaghetti made from courgette) for the mains. This was a generous size with a real depth of flavour. Both started and main course arrived super quickly with no-nonsense service. The pub had COVID safety measures in place, with Perspex between tables."

"The dirty bottles had a few different options and the staff were very knowledgeable about ingredients and what could be changed to make things vegan. For starters we shared the tempura cauliflower with chilli sauce which was so tasty. The portion was small though, which the staff acknowledged before we did and took money off the bill very lovely! Then for mains, I got the spicy black bean burger with chips. The burger was so delicious and was dressed perfectly, it all went together so well. The actual patty was a bit messy as it fell apart. Although the onion rings weren’t labelled vegan, the staff made sure they were cooked in the vegan oil which made them suitable for vegans!"
