Hop Pole - Speisekarte

Just for lunch. limited menu so we chose fish and chips, also meat pie. Many items too expensive. Staff ok but didn't really engage with us. Fish was from the freezer and under done meat pie was mince

We enjoyed another Sunday Lunch here at The Hop Pole. It was very busy as usual the meal was excellent with a variety of vegetables and gravy, no extras to pay for. The landlady is very welcoming and the staff very efficient.

Amazing setting, let down by the poor service and average (highly priced) food..... Visiting the area with friends and stumbled across this beautiful pub restaurant. Hopeful of good food and attentive service..... Delivered neither. Such a shame as lots of potential. Speisekarte ansehen

Can't speak highly enough of the venue, the staff, the catering and the wonderful setting. Staff couldn't have done more to make it a day to remember.....and they looked after the guests who have Coeliac Disease requiring a gluten free diet with real care and knowledge about it. Wonderful day.

Best Sunday roast we’ve ever had. Was camping locally and found this place online, luckily booked a table as they were turning people away. Lovely pub by the canal, the food was perfectly cooked and the cauli cheese was 10/10. Desserts stunning as well. Would deffo return if we are in the area again in future. Many thanks

Had a lovely walk around the Idle valley nature reserve. Decided to go for a pub lunch afterwards. Not being local did a google search and this pub looked a good bet. It turned out it was. Canal side setting with amazing covered outdoor seating areas. Good food and drink. Helpful pleasant staff. It was sunny which for this year was a bonus! Well worth a visit. Speisekarte ansehen

Called in while passing, never been before. Had the steak night special, was excellent. Great staff. Went to leave a tip after paying to be told that there's no need as they add a service charge on !! Not happy at the fact we weren't told about this charge first off. While I don't begrudge leaving a tip, it should be pointed out that there is a 10% charge on top of your final bill.

We made a reservation for Sunday lunch based on a friend's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply amazing. The cauliflower cheese was the best I've ever had. My only suggestion would be to either offer dining by the canal or allow dogs on the deck. Unfortunately, we missed out on dining there yesterday because of this policy. Despite this, I do plan on returning again in the future.

The pub is gorgeous, adorned with tasteful decor and featuring a fantastic outdoor seating area. However, the menu is quite limited with few options for main meals, which was disappointing. There were no specials available either. Despite the homemade chips, they lacked freshness and were pale and chewy, as if they had been stored for a few days. The staff also seemed inattentive. It's a shame because the pub and its surroundings are beautiful, but the food left us feeling underwhelmed. Speisekarte ansehen
