"We visited this estate pub after hearing some good reports about its Carvery restaurant. This was our first visit to The Jolly Steward for more years than I care to remember.The outside hasn't changed a lot, plent if car parking and easily accessible.Typical pub decor, but warm, clean comfortable inside with friendly staff. Thecavery ipens at 12 noon we arrived about 12.10 and got the last empty table, obviously very popular with the locals.The Carvery offerd beef, pork and Turkey , pie mince with dumplings and a good selection of veg. Other options are available from a small menu.The portions are very generous, I tried the bed and Turkey both cooked to perfection, the accompanying help yourself veg was hot , fresh and plentiful.The bill for 4 people including drinks was £26, hard to beat.I would certainly recommend a visit I will return"

Old pub from my past.....long long time ago. Old pub that some say could do with a revamp, but sometimes I question whether that would make it lose its character.

Great pub brilliant food and very reasonable prices. Very friendly too! A group of us went for lunch and the pub grub was excellent with really good portions-one of the best places we have been to this year!

What can I say apart from amazing food and service ... The potions are massive staff can not do enough for you and the prices are cheap defo get more than you pay for ... The home made chips are to die for x

The pub is a nice friendly eating place where drinkers are separated from the restaurant part.The food is cooked freshly when you order. There is a carvery on most days which offers a good range of meats and home cooked dishes to compliment the veg. The prices are very reasonable.

I have lived across the road from this pub for 7 year and no idea why it's tsjen so long to visit! I will definitely go back and even take the children.... I visit with a couple of friends for a catch up and food, we weren't disappointed. We all had chicken burgers but in different versions and we were all impressed... Maybe I should of kept this little find to myself hee hee.

Visited for first time mid week, there was 2 adults and 4 children, bill came to £25 for us all including drinks, portions sizes are massive too, enjoyed it so much went back for Sunday lunch a few days later, normally when going for a carvery with young children it can be quite stressful but didn't find this at all here, staff all very friendly and will do anything to help, will definitely be back :

been told about this place from a neighbour I took the family for the carvery waited a little while for a seat as it was packed. I paid for 3 kids 2 adults and drinks came to just under £31 the place is clean and tidy which is nice to see, we went to the carvery the chef was very friendly and chatty I had the choice of beef, pork,turkey or ham, the kids had turkey me and the missus had 3 meats the beef was really tender it melted in the mouth the turkey and ham was tasty the vegetables was fresh (none of this frozen rubbish) and the mash was creamy they even had bubble and squeak on which you don't see these days. overall this has got to be the best carvery I been to in a long time only prob...
