"My husband and I often visit this charming old inn's restaurant when we are in the area, and our recent visit was as delightful and delicious as always. We received a warm welcome from the staff, enjoyed a drink in the cozy bar, and perused the menu and specials board before being seated at our table. The staff at The Lamb are attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes they serve. The homemade soup is always a hit, my husband enjoyed the risotto, and we both loved the pan-fried Salmon with Asian flavors and the mouth-watering Sirloin steak. We paired our meal with a reasonably priced bottle of Malbec served at the perfect temperature. For dessert, we indulged in Panna Cotta and the chef's homemade ice cream, both of which were equally delightful. Despite the high quality of the cuisine, the bill was surprisingly reasonable. We look forward to returning in the spring or summer and cannot recommend The Lamb highly enough."

During the Christmas and New Year holiday, we had the chance to revisit the South Coast and dine at The Lamb. It continues to impress us. The food is top notch, the staff are charming, and the atmosphere is comfortable. We are already eagerly anticipating our next visit. Speisekarte ansehen

A warm welcome awaits at this charming, cosy and historic Sussex inn with log fires, oak beams, fresh and tasty seasonal food and super friendly and attentive service from the front of house team. Great choice of either the bar or restaurant. Today we enjoyed the traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings followed by an equally delicious home made Christmas pudding. A really good selection of wines by the glass too. Highly recommended.

Another fabulous meal at this wonderful restaurant. We took friends along and they were very impressed. The risotto starter was delicious and everyone else agreed their choices were also very very good.. the Cod dish from the special board was cooked to perfection as was the Monkfish on Harissa risotto, I had the duck and it was delicious. Thank you to Lee the team, we are always made to feel very welcome, just carry on doing what you are doing, we feel very lucky to live nearby

We've just had an absolutely fabulous stay here. For us, we were searching for a last minute stop over that looked like we would be able to relax and enjoy a great evening. We booked it on the recommendation of other reviews and wow this exceeded out expectations. From the moment we arrived the customer service was attentive, friendly and professional. This was across the board from more senior staff to the bar and waiting staff. The room we had was beautiful gorgeously decorated and the most comfortable bed. The bathroom had a gorgeous roll top bath and walk in shower. The bar was relaxed and comfortable, the food just delicious. We would definitely look at returning to the area and choosin... Upon arriving at the restaurant, we noticed that only one other table was occupied. Despite this, the service was slow and became even slower as the restaurant got busier. The main issue seemed to be with the kitchen and bar, rather than the waitstaff. After waiting 45 minutes for my meal, I was disappointed to find that the turkey was dry and the accompanying potatoes and other dishes were lukewarm. If I had not been a guest, I would have likely sent my meal back. The rest of my party found their meals to be average, with desserts being a highlight. However, we had to wait for a dessert menu and then again for our desserts to be served. Overall, I would have rated my experience a 2, but my...

Staff all very friendly, manager very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant with our friends, we all enjoyed it. The room was nice, but calling it boutique was not really not accurate as only a couple of old bits of furniture, but it was clean. Bathroom was very small and wife had to sit side saddle on loo as her knees were up against the wall. Breakfast was nice and fresh, but not much choice and a bit small with cheap bread for toast. We stay away a lot and normally pay between £90 £150 per night and all generally offer more than this, perhaps that's why we were the only room guests. Having said all this we will definitely be going back to use the res...

"Went with my partner who’d been here a good few years before and had fond memories of it. It’s changed! I was told on the phone it was advisable to book, I have no idea why as it was practically empty. We were pretty much ignored when we got there by an older woman behind the bar but hoped it would get better. The elderly woman on another table went off to find her own pepper so I should’ve known then. We ordered drinks and one pint of flat coke later we asked to send it back, I was told it was indeed real Coke by the sullen looking waitress wearing cycling shorts. She then admitted it wasn’t real Coke and did he want a bottle of that. We were waiting so long for our food that dirty glasses were accumulating on the table and at one point we put them up on the window sill. Then noticed a dirty big stain on the table cloth and a candle holder with old wax in but no candle left there on the table. We asked how much longer the food was going to be as we both had work in the morning and it turned upafter 60 minutes and I wish we’d have left 20 minutes earlier when we’d thought of doing so. When it came it was a shock to see the £27 sirloin steak. Over priced and average at best. We had to ask the waitress ‘can you please take all these dirty glasses while we eat?’ The meal was already ruined and our evening out spoiled not by the food but by the shoddy way we were treated from start to finish. Even the lemon had to be sent back! No juice, fell away from the skin into mush so god knows how long that’d been there. Apparently she needed to tell the chef but brought back more of the same. We had to quibble the bill afterwards as the pint of flat cola syrup sent back was still on there. The manageress or whatever her job title is should be embarrassed at how customers are treated but unfortunately it was obvious she didn’t care and no apology given and she treated us exactly the same. If o was on my own I wouldn’t have paid so they’re lucky we did. It was one thing after another. We came home feeling like we’d been taken advantage of and I wish I’d said more at the time. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, I chalk it up to experience and move on so you can imagine how bad it was. If you like fawlty towers you may enjoy this farce but we’ll put this down to one place we’ll never go back to and will NEVER recommend. Joke of a place. What a shame."
