"So just got back from The Mowden. Thanks to the lovely team there tonight. We all enjoyed our food. Highlights were, the mussels and chips and the fish and chips. The classic burger was very filling according to the youngest. I had Italian beer and the black sheep ale was delicious according to O.H.then it was pudding. Me and first born shared the brownie which was really lovely. Chris said his brioche bread and butter pudding was very good high praise). We all thought the place has a fab atmosphere as we ate outside and everything was fresh and tasty. We will be back, probably with Arnold �next time. Cheers. Helen Fidell"

We've been coming here for quite a while now but The Mowden seems to be getting even better lately. Our meal last night was mouth watering and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or attentive, needless to say, we'll be back soon!

I'm Darlington this week and ate here on the recommendation of a worker. Couldn't be happier: The food was excellent and not expensive. Staff super friendly and friendly. Promises clean, neat and well maintained. Would recommend everyone.

We called by chance yesterday tea time with our two young grandchildren we looked for a table but all were reserved however when we asked we were told we could have a table in the bar but there may be a little wait for food there was no noticeable wait and the children's meals were brought first always good. Our food was excellent and service was brilliant .. Especially liked the interaction between the staff and our grandchildren. We will definitely return and pre book a table next time thanks again
