"I went to this pub for Sunday lunch for the first time. It was easy to find using the postcode provided, and although the car park was very small, it was easy to find parking nearby. The Landlord was welcoming and attentive. The menu had a great selection of roasts, including a vegetarian option. I look forward to returning one evening to try something from their regular menu. "my dog and I were greeted with a friendly reception, we quickly sorted accommodation for the night and was shown the dinner menu, the torte was recommended with maische and veg, which was ordered along with a pint of aspels. the meal was nice and the bar staff were chatty .we moved to the Gin menu and got options for tonic also .all in all a great visit and a peaceful nights sleep, thanks xx"

"The staff at this restaurant were extremely rude. I was not impressed and will not be returning. It took three requests for a glass of water for myself and my son after we ordered drinks. The water was finally placed on our table without a word. The food was bland and even the couple at the next table were complaining about their meal. When it came time to pay, the server abruptly tapped the card machine without saying please or thank you. After I paid, he said nothing, not even a thank you. I was angry and stared at him until he finally grumbled "ok." As we left, he didn't even say thank you. My 14-year-old son had better manners by thanking him. There are many other nice restaurants in Wantage and I regret not choosing one of them. We paid £45 for a mediocre meal and terrible customer service. I do not recommend this restaurant."

"I recently cycled here for an overnight stay with my girlfriend. The staff were very helpful in terms of accommodating the bikes from booking and on arrival. The room was very nice and comfortable, but can imagine it may get hot in the summer as there is no air con. The bathroom was very nice, with a great shower and the bed was large and comfortable. It has to be said, that for the price, it was very, very reasonable. we paid £140 for an overnight stay, including £70 towards our meal, and a great breakfast with decent coffee. The bar was reasonable and the food was good, with italian meals that aren't necessarily the bog standard selection. If you are looking for an overnight stay, I'd recommend."

"12 of us were staying a few miles away from the fox and while most were at a theme park 2 of us looking after the 3 dogs went cross country to find a nice pub. we found a great one in the fox, had an excellent 3 course lunch and a bottle of wine. Food and service was so good we booked for all 12 of us plus the 3 dogs for the following evening. All was excellent again despite the size of our party. Nice outdoor area as well with things to entertain the kids. Highly recommended."
