"What a little gold mine! I came here with my dog to do 2 specific hikes. I was booked for another camp site but on arrival i wasn't happy and this place came up! It is a pub in a small village but it has a small campsite across the road that you pay the pub £7 to stay in. I loved relaxing in this place. The staff were above and beyond friendly to me and my dog also. I'm deaf and i am always worried about fitting in or not being sure of things but the staff made me feel very welcome and like i was part of the furniture. The couple who own it are very friendly and asked how my day had been and gave my dog a lovely bout of attention too. It's serves food and the bar is open but only until 10pm. It's very close to the four falls trail and only 30 minutes to pen-y-fan. I would highly recommend staying here to camp and come in after a hard day to relax with a few beers or a meal if you wish. The garden is super cute too. 5 stars from me! It isn't the Ritz but i didn't want that anyway... I wanted somewhere to stay and somewhere for a beer after and i even had the privilege of chatting with some of the locals who were also friendly to me. Maybe one day I will come back to attempt another hike ... If i do ... It'll be here! No doubt"

I ordered creamy garlic mushrooms. There was no cream. No taste no flavor. Veg balti had no ingredients of a balti curry. We spoke to the manager his reply was. Oh well other people said it was nice. Extremely disappointed.

Went here for an evening meal with partner. The staff were really friendly and polite and the food was amazing. Partner had a pie and it was filled with meat. The curry was also very good. I couldn’t fault the food. They also do local gin. If you like gin try the chocolate orange, very good.

We are so glad we saw this beautiful Country Pub , and was offered a Warm Welcome , BUT when we had our Sunday Lunch OMG .... It was ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR... no wonder it is very popular .. We live in Merthyr but the couple on next table was from Ebbw Vale, and they were recommended to go there from friends... Desserts are also Scrumptious ... BUT Book before you go, cos Couples were turned away whilst we were there...10 out of 10 . We will be back definitely

We have passed this pub so many times on our bike rides but never had the opportunity of going in. We can’t believe what a treasure of a place this is. We had originally booked a table outside as we had bikes. The owner let us put the bikes out on the terrace and gave us a table by the log fire. This was our first time visiting but it definitely won’t be our last. The welcome we received was amazing and the food was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Popped in for lunch and what a great welcome when Chris opened the door a little early as it was cold outside. Nine of us ordered from a great Christmas menu and the real hits were the Christmas Pie and the Cheese Tart, delicious. Deserts were great too, particularly the waffles and jaffa orange toppings. Chris was attentive, super friendly and we enjoyed some good banter. Will be back, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for warm and welcoming local pub serving fantastic food. Thank you Chris.

Firstly and most importantly I would like to Thank all of the wonderful staff at this beautiful traditional pub. We were camping in the adjacent field and called in for a drink after a long walk with our very nervous collie, we were made to feel so welcome and they were absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough to help our little dog feel safe. We returned the next evening for an early supper and were welcomed like old friends which was just lovely. We had the super scrummy burger which was the perfect size and so tasty. Service was excellent with super happy staff, would we return …..absolutely Yes without a doubt, hopefully very soon. Also if you like a cider you should definitely try the l...

Visited here for Sunday lunch. Rang on the morning and was lucky to get a table at the time we wanted. Not our first visit, but our first Sunday lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff and didn’t wait long to be served for a drink or for our choices to be taken. We opted for the carvery but unfortunately service was extremely long! There was approximately 8 people in front of us who were sat close by. It was probably the best part of 45 minutes before we were able to get our food from the serving area. The serving area is very small hardly any room to move, especially if there’s more than two of you getting food. The food was lovely and tasty delicious. The pub itself is warm and welcoming...

We came here for lunch having looked at all the amazing reviews and we were really looking forward to it. The pub itself is lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. This is a very dog friendly place which is important to us. The menu is limited especially for lunch- no sandwiches or suchlike but we ordered a scampi and chips for husband and the chicken with tahini glaze, leeks and nori for me as it was a GF option. I asked for the side of roast veg. Honestly when it came out I was a bit stunned- the roast veg was bits of diced sweet potato and cauliflower and the chicken breast was dried out , couldn’t see any glaze . I was a bit embarrassed so just ate it. At least there was a pot o...
