"We were surprised at how tasty everything was. We hadn 't expected much, but it was lovely and we had a corner table inside with a view of the squirrels running to and from the forest which was really nice. We got the bruscetta and the garlic mushrooms to start, and shared. They each came on two bits of yummy toasted bread so it was really easy to share. For the mains which I forgot to photograph!! we got the mushroom stroganoff which was really flavoursome, and the burger which was as can be expected anywhere really. The chunky chips on the side of the burger were AMAZING. We shared the raspberry macallan for dessert which I 'd really recommend. Creamy vanilla ice cream, crumbled shortbread and delicious fresh raspberry coulis all mixed in a tall sundae glass. We were with my dad and his wife, and they shared the normal raspberry macallan and there were differences in the ice cream and shortbread to feel comfortable that it wasn 't the same dish, but looked pretty much exactly the same. Would get it again!"

"Unfortunately, I will not be returning in a hurry. Having previously enjoyed a meal at their restaurant in Carluke, we were excited to try this one. However, everything from the decor to the food and service fell short of our expectations. The food was mediocre at best, nothing particularly noteworthy and definitely not as delicious as what we had experienced in the Carluke location. The waitress appeared disinterested in serving us, more focused on other things happening around her. After our main course, we decided to find another place to dine. We may give it another chance in the future."

"Just stopped in while on a business trip. The place was busy which is always an indicator to how good the food could be. The waitress was attentive and quick even during the busy period we visited. Always asking if we need a drink, how is the food etc. Chicken wings here are some of the best I've tasted. The platter shared between 2 was huge and came with generous sized various dips. The burgers were nice but the topped fries were really the standout piece of the meal. The pulled Brisket was tasty and chips plentiful all served on a cast iron pan. Would definitely recommend a visit here if you like American style food. Thanks for the grub!"

"We ordered a take away at 4:30PM for collection at 5:30. I arrived at 5:35 to be advised they were only just starting to cook it then. It should have been ready to collect at this time as requested. The restaurent was chaotic, another customers order had been lost and she was complaining, the owner came out and shouted at the staff that there were orders waiting in the kitchen. I waited 35 minutes and eventually complainted about the delay. I eventually received my order at 18:10 (40 minutes late). We do like the food here and I understand it was busy but IMO this delay is unacceptable. I had two hungry kids at home waiting to eat and it wasn't fair to make them wait this long. I won't risk ordering from here again given I don't want a repeat of this saga."

"A really good pub, but if your having a party, book somewhere else! Booked for my sisters 30th, and altho the staff were great, whoever the dj is should be replaced. Said he ‘wasnt well’ and proceeded to either sit with his head on the decks, or sit in bar area. We met him while viewing room, and after saying ‘no problem’ and as he wasnt a rock fan and ‘would get someone else to do it’ as was more a ‘cheesy song dj’, and he hated when folk dont ask for songs, we sent a list of specific songs for the birthday girl, one being her ‘last dance song’ and another being her and her fiances special song, to make sure the dj had it and it got played. We were told at 10:30PM!!! he didnt have her song as he only had spotify! (We found it no problem!!! He played the last song at 11:40pm after being told party would be until midnight, then made a VERY quick exit before we could say anything! The bar staff said would pass it to management but tbh his whole attitude was offputting and found that hardly anyone got up to dance, and were making comments if he was ‘alive’. The fact that pub maybe had about 10-15 folk on drinking, made the party the main source of income that night! Really disappointing and after being big fans of pub, wont be considering the function room for any future events, and would not recommend it to anyone either."
