The Oxford - Speisekarte

My mother and I dined at this restaurant twice and both times were fantastic. We tried dishes from the specials board as well as the regular evening menu. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Despite being a pub, it was not overly loud and had a pleasant atmosphere.

Surprised . This was a alast minute find. There were 6 adults and a a 1 year old. We had a a fabulous meal we expected the usual pub food. Not so it was far beyond that, will go again in an instant if they keep this standard of food up. Disappointed in the drinks though , cheap brands used ,you can taste the difference.

My wife and I popped in for a drink and a meal today, but the youth who was tendering the bar just wasn't interested in serving us, all he was interested in was his mobile, other patrons looked at us with raised eyebrows as we looked embarrassed. We walked out and the barman probably didn't even know we were trying to get his attention.

These new premises are bright, clean and welcoming. The proprietor is charming, friendly and attentive. My friend had a wonderful omelette, chips and peas. I had jacket potato with cheese plus loads of salad (they'd run out of cole slaw). Lovely view of the town square and water feature through huge plate glass windows. Altogether very nice indeed.

I visited this restaurant this morning for a change, as I usually go elsewhere when in Weston-super-Mare. The prices were reasonable and the food was cooked well and served hot. The place was clean, which was a bonus. I appreciated that they took our order at the table, as not many restaurants do that. After we had our food, a staff member came over to ask if everything was okay. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I had a panini, other half had beef ploughman's (came with a little glass of cider. Both well presented, good salad with my sandwich, lovely friendly staff. I was so pleased to see this place reopened after it had been boarded up so long. Modern, relaxing, light airy decor, big windows, but also cosy corners if you wanted that. Looks great, food was great. Would definitely go back for coffee and cake, lunch again, or an evening meal.

I ordered two meals which were supposed to be two quarter-sized burgers with chips and salad, but what we received was a very thin, overcooked burger with undercooked and oily onions, and no salad at all. When I complained to the rude owner, he was extremely disrespectful towards me. After arguing with him for about 10 minutes, I finally received a refund. The food is expensive and the restaurant was nearly empty, with only two other customers inside. I strongly advise against visiting this cafe as you will likely be overcharged. It was a terrible experience and the menu was falsely advertised.

We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the improvement in these new premises on South Parade (near Lloyds Bank). My friend had omelette (it was so generous it must have been three eggs), plus chips and peas. I had Cheddar cheese panini (which was so thick with cheese I had to cut into it) plus salad and home-made crisps. The price was very reasonable especially considering the generous portions. We were very happy indeed! The new premises look out onto the Town Square with the fountains. And inside is nicely decorated. The toilets are pristine, which is always a bonus! Staff are friendly and charming! What more could you want???

So disappointed and such a shame ! Travelling down to Weston to visit friends we nipped in to the Oxford for a late dinner as we had been travelling !! Outside a board saying 2 meals for a Tenner so we thought great ! Popped in ordered 2 pints and went to order the special to be told it finished a hour earlier !! No time was on the board and if that was the case bring the board in ! So because he had ordered and started our drinks we ordered 2 burgers off the menu £15.00 at point of ordering at no time did the staff inform us the the burger came with nothing !!
