"This used to be a local pub and restaurant. It would appear that this is now a restaurant with a bar. There is very little atmosphere and beer was poor (we understand that the lines were not cleaned((properly No steak knife offered and it was too late by the time the server returned to the table. There was an accident with one meal so we had to wait for that to be rectified by which time one meal had lost heat. However, the food was nice but not a place I shall be returning to in the near future."

My friends and I regularly meet at this restaurant as our central gathering spot. It is a lovely, well-lit establishment with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff is excellent and the food is delicious. We enjoy trying different dishes from the menu each time we visit.

We dined in the sun room, which was lovely! However, the noise level was quite high due to two large parties near us, which made it difficult for us to have a conversation. We had requested a table in a quieter part of the restaurant when we arrived, but unfortunately, all the tables were occupied.

Eaten here many times before and always been pleased. However had mussels yesterday, that were very small, over cooked, flavourless sauce, small portion with one slices of slightly stale sourdough bread and chips. Very disappointing, didn’t complain at the time as I didn’t want to embarrass friend who was paying.

Had a nice Mother’s Day lunch, roast was delicious with great selection of vegetables and presentation was lovely. Service was fairly slow, large table in but felt slightly forgotten about. Can’t fault the food in terms of flavour, presentation and choice. Sunday lunch fixed price was reasonably priced… however the childrens menu needs some attention. £5 for a “popsicle” is outrageous. A child’s starter, half roast and that dessert option would be £17.50 which seems incredibly expensive.
