The Punchbowl - Speisekarte

I went for dinner on Saturday evening and had a wonderful meal from the exceptional new menu. The service, provided by Olivier, Connor, Amy, and the rest of the team, was fantastic as always. They made us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, 10/10.

High quality food but not too pretentious, really enjoyed it, very professional and polite staff. The young waitress about to go to Liverpool university (apologies, I can't remember her name) was so friendly and professional, she deserves a pay rise! Excellent Christmas dinner and dancing. Being a vegan I often get the raw end (see what I did there! of the deal when it comes to set menus, but the vegan food here was second to none. So delicious and so were all of the non vegan meals that the others had. Wonderful service, atmosphere and dancing afterwards. Cannot fault this place and will be back as soon as budgets allow. Went for a family meal on Saturday evening. I had requested a quiet table with a bit of space around us and they were really helpful and we had a lovely spot. The waiting staff were really attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and even though they warned us the mains would take a little longer as it had to be freshly prepared it seemed to arrive in good time. It was one of our party’s birthday and they did us a lovely plate with a brownie and a candle. We couldn’t fault it. We haven’t been there for many yeas but will definitely be going back.

A return to New Year’s Eve after a break following Covid! The food was its very usual high standard. The staff were so so super friendly and the atmosphere was fabulous. The bar staff were helpful and chatty. The firework display was so good. Challenged by the weather but the sentiment was there… great fun and bravo for attempting the display from the field in inclement weather! We stayed over and the room was a spacious suite. Totally comfortable and stylish. It’s totally what I expect whenever I visit. Thank you all for making it such a lovely evening xx

My family and I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and were not impressed. Despite the nice setting, the food was subpar. We decided to give it another try today, but unfortunately, we were once again disappointed. The burgers are served pink inside, which is not ideal for minced meat. We opted for the more expensive sirloin steak instead, which was not terrible, but the accompanying dishes were greasy and unappetizing. The chips tasted frozen, and the blue cheese sauce lacked any blue cheese flavor. The service was lacking as well, as we had to wait for 20 minutes at the bar despite having a reservation. The restaurant lacked atmosphere and was drafty. The staff appeared tired and rushed as they prepared for the next day's service. My reservation time was changed from 6:15 to 7:15 without explanation. The pumpkin ravioli starters were disappointing, with bland filling and overcooked pasta. The saving grace was the fried seaweed/cabbage and pancetta. The pate was enjoyed by others at the table. The main course of beef was served swimming in gravy, which seemed to be covering up the lackluster roast or possibly boiled potatoes. We requested additional roast potatoes for an extra charge, only to find they were identical to the ones already on my plate. My dish was supposed to include roast onio...

We stayed this weekend for one night. The food was quite unpleasant, both our meals were over salted , burnt batter and very little chicken in one meal. We mentioned the over salted food to the waitress. The drinks felt over priced eg sparkling water £4 a regular bottle. They had a large event of a Birthday party which was going on just under our room, the music was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV and it didn’t stop until 11.30. In fact we could hear clearly the words to the point we could sing along. No one warned us about this or even to offer us a quieter room. On leaving this morning no customer service question was asked if we had had a good stay. I wouldn’t really recommend it sadly ....

Of all of the local eateries in the surrounding area, the Punchbowl is always the most consistent, serving an array of beautiful dishes to the same high standard. The Sunday lunches are really good too the chateaubriand is amazing (but so is the pork, chicken and beef! We never struggle to find something on the menu that isn’t a win.. Whenever we have friends over from the USA or visiting from down south the first question they always ask is ‘are we going to the Punch?… We enjoy going out to eat, and here we know that the food will be amazing, the staff are so incredible and the service is always great and being honest, there isn’t any real competition, it blows everywhere else out of the wa...
