The Refinery - Speisekarte

Our visit wasn’t without it’s mistakes but we still enjoyed our brunch. I don’t think I’d travel out of my way to visit, but it’s not a bad spot for a quick snack and a cocktail if you’re in the area...

I like the food and the drinks. Beware it is a loud venue with high levels of hubub. Great for after work instant atmosphere. Not for a quiet night or to talk about the boss. You'll be shouting before you know it.

eating is good, the venue is very spacious and has a large escaping area in the free. While it is great for day and post work drinks, on Wednesday about 10 elders and babys coffee and cake, with floor mats for babies to play. Genie

Unfortunately, the taste did not match the presentation. My steak was rather chewy, despite being cooked to medium, and the lobster, while tasty, was cold upon arrival. However, the chips were possibly some of the best I’ve ever had, and the garlic butter I asked for on the side (at an extra cost) was absolutely divine.

The **** Caesar is refreshingly sharp and deliciously savoury all at the same time. Made with all the standard ingredients, but using clemato juice instead of tomato juice, it is served with a king prawn garnish. Clemato juice, I am told, is an American import where the tomato juice has been infused with the flavours of clams giving it a savoury seafood note.

A good after-work option in Southwark, easily accessible by both London Bridge as well as Waterloo.. well it will be as soon as they fix the kinks in the service. Unarguably ignored for large periods of time, when the food finally arrives, it's nice and a good option to soothe the hunger pangs but it would have been a lot more appreciated if it had arrived a little early. The burger was juicy and not overdone, which is hard to come by so at least they got that right.

the raffinerie is actually the restaurant I was most in london, as I work right before and can live very close to me. I had the experience of having lunch, dinner and drinks in the refinery, and I must say that the experience was always good. this restaurant is packed in the regular every day of the week so that the service is not always so fast it really depends on which hour they arrive! I recommend sharing the salt pfeffer with lemon mayonnaise and the Roman frits. I've been wanting to eat at a Drake Morgan restaurant for a little while now, as not only are all of their restaurants so pretty and quaint but the menu is interesting and tasty looking too. I picked The Refinery for a belated birthday meal with my three oldest friends from infant school, all working in different parts of the city and finishing at different times it's a struggle to all be able to meet at a convenient time so a couple of us turned up early for a drink in bar. It's often the case that during the working week, I'll want to go and sit down for a quick lunch somewhere. On my birthday I wanted somewhere that would serve food quickly, but also deliver on quality and a great atmosphere. I went with my dad to The Refinery, which is just under the Blue Fin building near London Bridge. I've often walked past The Refinery during the evening and it's an after-work drinks hub for city workers, letting off some steam on Thursday nights.
