"Stayed for a nearby wedding, so the location was only relevant to that and it was ideal. Service was excellent, especially from Julie, who seems to do pretty much everything! The room was clean and tidy, with plenty of teas coffee. Towels in the bathroom were superb, but if you're not going to provide shower gel etc., it would have been useful to know that in advance. Happy to recommend and would certainly use again if in the area."

Lovely location just outside the hustle and bustling city, not too long of a drive into the city either. The staff were friendly and the room was lovely and cosy. The bed was amazing and overall had a great weekend away. I’d definitely stay here again!

My husband wanted to try this pub because of their wide selection of cask ales (which were great) but it turned out to be a great find. We had a wonderful meal; everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. We weren’t rushed, there were no long delays and the service was excellent. Arancini and pork tenderloin were highlights, as was the Orkney toffee fudge ice cream. We shall be returning!

Stayed here for a few days to see Edinburgh. Very welcoming and the food is hearty, great after big hikes. The breakfast was great each time and I love replacing the same old black pudding I'm used to from England with a round haggis. Good that there are still soulful inns like this in the modern day to enjoy. Saw people from all over the world stay here during my visit. Very interesting. Big thanks from Manchester.
