"carefully, complain about “Rudeness” to read? I go to the house with my workers on Friday and I am always treated to a hearty reception. we even chose to take our new Spanish chef who was never pub in an English where she could eat. martin clicked on it and served it personally (in her own language! and served me what looked like amazing fish and chips. everyone I see with food says it's ass, it's safe. our young have burgers and things that are good. some crisp beers too. I live 50 miles away and could go back first, but it's always the first thing all people ask me on Friday when we all go to the rising sun! it's always disappointing if we can't out what reason! can't mistake it yourself"

Fantastic atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff. We had a lovely evening. Cheaper than the Beefeater which is 2 minutes up the road.

only because no stars are no option. the pub itself is pleasant, spacious and well furnished, with a good beer and wine choice on Saturday night.

My family visited this restaurant before Christmas and had a lovely experience with delicious food and excellent service. We enjoyed chatting and laughing together, although we did not realize that it took a while for our food and drinks orders to arrive. We have always had great meals at the Rising Sun and will definitely be returning in the new year.

Excellent experience, from beginning to end. This well located public house gives a huge welcome from the minute you walk through the door, beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The service is second to none, varied and interesting menu. Very busy but still first class experience, recommend the signature Hunters Chicken, well presented and very tasteful. Book a table and judge far yourselves, you won't be disappointed!!! Thank you ladies keep up the good work.....

"Visiting Crewe with my wife we decided to take an early lunch at Miller and Carter. Our choice of restaurant being influenced by an earlier experience at the Telford outlet. Receiving a warm greeting from Reception we were shown to our table by David, who was to be our server throughout the meal. The Fixed Price Menu seemed to meet our needs and we ordered starters of salt and pepper calamari and sticky chipotle chicken. The main course being two 7 oz Rump steaks, one served with a mixed salad and the other with onion loaf, tomato, and seasoned fries. Drinks comprised a glass of a very pleasing South African merlot and a Fevertree tonic water. The meal met with our expectations and the steaks (cooked medium) had just the right degree of pinkness. The dishes were well prepared, nicely presented, and the steaks in particular were full of flavour. Competitively priced at £16.25 per head for a 2-course lunch, or £19.25 if wanting a dessert, we thought it represented very good value for money. The restaurant gave out a pleasant ambience and the spacious seating ensured comfort in just the right setting. Mention should also be made of the washroom facilities which were as to be expected. Having spent a good number of years in Hospitality Management I could not fault our young attendant David, who we both thought performed his tasks to a high standard. Happy to recommend."

"I last reviewed the Red Cow restaurant at the beginning of 2022, when I also gave it an ‘average’ rating – and recently returned for the first time since then. I ordered the ‘Red Cow Burger’, on the menu for £18 and offered with ‘red onion jam, crispy streaky bacon, Emmental cheese, brioche and fries’. The patty tasted less like beef and more like liver – which was a surprise, although the menu description didn’t actually specify the ingredients; so I assumed that it would be beef. I then asked the server which meat was used in the patty, and they replied: “I think it’s beef”. I then told them that it tasted very much like liver to me, so they checked with the chef. After a few minutes, they returned, explaining that the chef was very sorry, but the mince is supplied by a butcher, who ‘sometimes’ adds liver to the mix. This seemed a bit vague. To my chagrin I continued to eat the burger, but wasn’t enjoying it, so gave up after I’d consumed over half of it. I was wondering what other mystery meats the butcher might have thrown-in to ‘enhance’ the flavour and binding properties of the mince (and possibly reduce the cost per weight)? What do you do in this situation? You’re hungry; other people in your party are enjoying their meal, and the menu didn’t specify that the patty included offal – so I felt that I couldn’t send it back and get something else (not that this option was offered by the apologetic server). Before my far from empty plate was cleared, I informed the person who originally took my order that I hadn’t enjoyed what I had eaten of the burger, due to it tasting like liver, and to please let the chef know. They returned, and repeated that the chef was very sorry, but that the mince is supplied by a butcher, who sometimes adds liver to the mix. I thought that at this stage they might offer a dessert, coffee or drink on the house – but they didn’t. The fries were good and the seeded brioche bun was decent, the latter being neither over-soft or too sweet. The servers were courteous, but in my opinion could be better trained in the ingredients of the menu and in customer service. £18 for a beef and liver (and who knows what else) burger and fries is a lot. I didn’t enjoy the experience. The Red Cow should have done better, and it’ll be more than a couple of years before I return there to eat."
