Delicious Sunday roast with great flavor. The interior decor is lovely, and the service is extremely friendly. I would definitely return. Hotel highlights: Excellent value.

I can't comment on the accommodations since I only dined here, but I must say that the food was of excellent quality. I had a game pie followed by sticky toffee pudding. The pie was filled with a wonderful selection of game and was well-seasoned; the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that some of the meat was a bit dry, which can happen if game is slightly overcooked. The sticky toffee pudding was fantastic and perfectly suited for a cozy autumn meal. The atmosphere and decor were also incredibly inviting.

As we walked up the lane toward the entrance, the pub looked absolutely stunning, especially since our group of four was there for a pre-Christmas meal. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with oak beams and tasteful decorations. The bar was to our left, and directly across from it was an open fire, creating a cozy ambiance. We were promptly greeted at the bar, our reservation was confirmed, and our drinks were served. The food and service were exceptional. I highly recommend a visit to The Saxon Inn!

We arrived at our place of stay roughly 2 miles from this here. I had the pork belly and the better half had the steak and ale pie. Let's start with the pork belly, a great piece or pork came out on the plate and initially I was impressed, visually it looked absolutely top notch, however the potatoes that accompanied the dish were at some point had been previously frozen as they were grainy and very hard undercooked, the cabbage I'm sure was shown the pan and then placed on the plate, the pork belly and what should have been the star of the show was extremely underwhelming, no crackling and taste was virtually zero unfortunately.
