Had Sunday lunch with a party of 10 today. The food was perfect, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming and it was very reasonably priced. It’s a ten from me! Thank you.

I pre booked two Christmas dinners back on November 23, and from entering to leaving an hour latter our experience was excellent, also the atmosphere was brilliant throughout the restaurant from happy customers which says it all

The pub had a pleasant atmosphere, but the food was extremely disappointing. The vegetables were burnt to a point where they were unrecognizable, even the waitress couldn't identify them. The pies were overcooked, the chips were greasy, and one of our meals was completely inedible.

A fantastic meal at the Shoe on New Years Eve! Everything was excellent from the food to the service and the lovely setting. We purchased a loaf of bread from the pantry for New Years Day brunch and this was also fantastic. Have booked again for the 28th of January to try the Sunday Roast and are very much looking forward to it.

We visited for a Monday lunch with my wife’s son as a belated birthday lunch for him. I had the steak pie which was delicious although a bit difficult to get at with a square dish. We like the complimentary bread and balsamic vinegar while we were waiting for our main course. I had a cheese cake for desert which was a bit stodgy. The drinks were good and service too. The bill at £120 plus for the three of us which was a bit pricy for a country pub.

We were extremely disappointed with the service we received from the woman working behind the bar. She was rude, unhelpful, and made us feel like a burden. Considering how busy the holiday season is for many people, especially those in the hospitality industry, it is important to provide good customer service. If you choose to work in this field, you should know how to greet customers with a smile, especially when they are spending money at your establishment. If you cannot do this, then perhaps this job is not the right fit for you. We will not be coming back.

absolutely incredible. I've been coming here for years, I mean, how many friends recommended it. When a friend asked me to go to lunch, I asked if we could come here. the environment is beautiful, the outdoor / indoor terrace is perfect in a cool autumn afternoon. service was friendly and attentive as well as contemporary. that was immense. the brot, baked in place, is exceptional. the best brot ever. my friend had a BLT sandwich and was so happy. We booked another family reunion lunch at the end of December 2023, the same as on previous years. I have to eat a limited diet , fried food or fatty high dishes like Pastry is not allowed. I was thus very disappointed they no longer offered the 'Buddha Bowl ' which used to be delicious and filling. I asked our Server whether they could offer me a mixed Salad but she said if it wasn 't on the menu , I couldn 't have it ! I find it difficult to believe the kitchen staff could not have put together a few chopped Tomatoes, Cucumber , Peppers and Lettuce ?
