"You can find The Sister restaurant on Kelvingrove Street up the steepest stairs in Glasgow thank goodness I wore reasonably low heels : As the dining room was absolutely packed I never took any pictures, I don't really like to get in people's face too much with my camera. The vibe tho is grown up, serene and subdued in the best ways, the cream walls were dotted with beautiful abstract art in shades of grey, there was a large fireplace feature, soothing just audible music, fresh red roses on the table (it was valentines! linen table cloths. It was beautiful and even though it was jumping it felt like a calm and soothing environment. The staff were exactly what you would expect from a restaurant like the Sister delightful. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast...probably faster than it normally would be due to the date, having said that I never once felt rushed or harassed the staff were just sharp and on the ball with clearing plates. The menu at the sisters is like a love letter to Scotland, it was loaded with haggis, black pudding, fish, venison, beef cheeks, clootie dumpling and puff candy. It was like head chef Jackie O'Donnell had stepped into my childhood and brought all those foods into the 21st century. I could very easily have chosen any dish on offer from each course, it's an utterly lush menu. In the end I decided to try the haggis, neeps and tatties to start, I never took pictures of the menu so I forget the exact description of the dish. My first thought upon seeing my dish was wow! There was a puddle of glossy gravy, in the middle was a large haggis cake topped with neeps and a fritter....yes a freakin FRITTER!! I was beside myself as I am sure by now you know how I feel about fritters. The food was utterly gorgeous and without fault, the haggis was tasty and slightly spicy, the neeps were light and creamy, and the fritter was crisp and perfect. Gorgeous! For my main I finally decided on the Chicken breast with Stornoway black pudding, creamed leeks a red wine jus with a side of Rooster tatties market vegetables to share. Again visually it was so beautiful to look at. Taste wise it was amazing, the chicken was moist and tender, the creamed leeks still had bite and were seasoned to perfection, the big wedge of black pudding was soft and crumbly, the mash was silky and the red wine jus was lush and decedent. The side was also a triumph the roasted potatoes were crispy golden nuggets of joy and the veg was incredibly tasty, I even liked the broccoli (I hate broccoli but I loved however they cooked it. After all that food dessert was touch and go for a while, but there was no way I could leave without trying the Puff candy meringue with honeycomb, ice cream hot butterscotch sauce. Now lets not kid ourselves this dish it basically a plate of sugar in various forms.....but boy what a plate of sugar it was. The puff candy meringue was light and delicate, the honeycomb was crunchy and sweet and the butterscotch sauce was thick and creamy. This dessert is as good as desserts get. It was a stunning gift from the sugar gods! All in all a pretty exceptional meal and up there with the best I have eaten in Glasgow without question. This is a must try restaurant for me and I will definitely visit again very soon."

The Sisters is some the best Scottish cuisine at an unbeatable price. You can always find a special offer on their website and I can not express how amazing your value for money is. Local Scottish ingredients and modern twists on traditional recipes make The Sisters the place to eat in Glasgow. You'll want to save room for the Puff Candy Sundae--trust me!

Five stars and three cheers for what must be the foodie bargain of the century, market menu lunch 3 courses for £12 with a very acceptable bottle of merlot at £16. Mull cheddar and leek risotto was perfectly cooked and topped with light curls that tasted like posh Quavers. My Ramsay of Carluke ' s ham yes you even get provenance for £12) came with spring cabbage and kale and colcannon mash. My companions had roast chicken breast on a bed of barley and root vegetables with a red wine jus, and stuffed aubergine with all sorts of yummy accompaniments according to my veggie friend). Pudding was a sugar rush of meringue, ice cream and puff candy. Stylish gently Scottish themed decor and friendly...

Great restaurant with some of the loveliest staff, especially Chef Jacqueline! I opted for homemade chicken liver pate with oatcakes and pear relish to start. The pate was just beautifully smooth and tasted great. For main course, I went with pork which was deliciously tender and moist. It didn't come with crackling, but was thrilled when the waitress said she would add some in (it was on with another pork dish on the menu that night). This made me very happy! The dessert was one of the best I have had in some time a beautifully presented little jar with strawberry jelly, creamy rice pudding and strawberry mousse. I will definitely be back at The Sisters. A lovely intimate atmosphere with a... Speisekarte ansehen

We went here for the Sunday deal, less than £20 for 3 courses, which was fantastic value for money! I had the beetroot and goats cheese starter, which I absolutely loved! I chose the fish for the main which I enjoyed, but I was glad I hadn't paid the a la carte price, as it felt a little dry. My boyfriend had the ham and his was dryer than mine, definitely needed sauce. Pudding now that was as good as the starter, fantastic! We opted for the meringue puff and the White chocolate mousse. The meringue puff was lovely, but a bit too sweet for me, but the white chocolate with the pistachio cake and strawberry jelly was an absolute delight! I would have had 3 if I could!! Overall a nice meal out...

We went here on a deal night, which seems to be Sunday-Thursday. It seems a bit expensive otherwise. Deal is 2 courses for £16, 3 for £19 which is pretty good for what it is. Some of the meals also have £5 supplements which seem OK for what they are, but not great. For starter I had scallops and venison chorizo £5 supplement). Was pretty decent. The quality of ingredient is high. But it was pretty plain. For main I had ham, mash and kale. While all bits were brilliant, the meal missed a sauce to make it a complete meal. Again pretty plain. Pudding was great. Can't remember exactly what it was. But both puddings we had were great. I wouldn't massively recommend this place. But the food was ni...

So glad I finally got to try here, having tried the Jordanhill venue and not being wowed. Admittedly, in the middle of summer and very early. Last night, was a booking for 8:15, which was a great time as there was already a buzz about the place. Walking straight into the serving area is a little odd! I loved the simple tartan decor, elegant without being really tacky and touristy. I also loved that the ladies loo, had a sofa, 2 ladies were nattering in there for about 15 minutes!!. The food was impeccable. My Dad opted to have the starter and main from Great British Menu and he said they did not disappoint. I loved the Old Country Rose china, as my Grandma has it, so made my whole family smi... Speisekarte ansehen

Went to The Sisters on Monday 30 of April for my grans birthday with my mum and sister in law. I booked a fab deal on 5pm which was 3 courses for £12. It had a great variation of choice and I couldn't wait to go. I had booked lunch for 12:30 and found it a bit hard to find to be honest and the time I put enough money (fingers crossed) in the on street meter we were a tad late. We were sat next to a lovely cosy fire and ordered out starters straight away, 3 soups if the day which was a vegetable broth and one haggis, which was for me. When the soup came my gran gingerly told me it was cold and my mum and Megan agreed. Unfortunately they had to send it back whilst I tucked into my haggis which...

The Sister 's is my go-to restaurant for a special occasion with family and friends; this visit was no exception as it was mine and Kris B. 's anniversary so we paid the Kelvingrove restaurant a visit : We booked in for the pre-theatre menu £17.95 for 3 course plus a complimentary glass of wine , which has the best choice for a pre-theatre menu I 've seen for a long while. There 's a great mixture of meats, fish and veggie dishes to cater to all tastes. I opted for the chicken liver pate, the fish of the day cod fillet with chorizo, new potatoes, garlic butter and broccoli and their signature dessert: puff candy meringue with honeycomb ice-cream, cinder toffee and warm toffee sauce. Kris tri...

"We went here on 3 September. If my review was only about the food, I 'd give five stars, as it was excellent value for money at £25 for five small courses on the 'total trust ' menu. It 's certainly worth that price and more. My only criticism concerning the food was the lack of variety. I know the whole point is to put 'total trust ' in the chef, but three fish courses was a little excessive. This didn 't bother me as I love fish, but my mum, who I was dining with, was a little disappointed. The service had a lot of glitches. We really couldn 't understand the man who was serving us, but that 's nobody 's fault, of course, and we would never be critical just for that, but there were other problems. I got given the wrong wine to start, but it was perfectly pleasant, so I didn 't say anything, thinking that it was just a one off error. We then ordered bread and butter when he came over to the table it never came for 20 minutes, during which time other people had ordered the same thing with other waiters after us and got it. He clearly hadn 't put the order in and we had to chase it up. I was asked if I wanted 'cheese or dessert for my final course ' and I picked cheese he had to come over and tell me that it wasn 't available on the menu and that he made a mistake, which is fine, but it was then made clear that I would have gotten both and that the cheese was just an additional course, which wasn 't made clear originally. I also ordered a double espresso to finish my meal, but when it came it was a single. I mentioned this to another woman passing who rectified the situation. My mum thought she overhead the waiter saying 'he said a single, not a double ', but I can verify this, however I can say that I definitely didn 't say that. The man who made all the mistakes said that the espresso was on the house, but, somewhat predictably at this point, it was added to our bill. We enjoyed the aspect of guessing what ingredients were in each dish and being told by the waiter how much of it we got right or wrong. The waiter said we got everything right on one of the courses but then also said the table next to us got everything right on the same course, despite having two different answers. It seems a shame to come up with an interactive and novel concept only to have one waiter who appeared not bothered enough to actually look at our answers properly. We might go back as the other waiting staff seemed excellent and the food was very good, but we 'll not be in any rush..."
