Great bar in the base of the Gherkin. Big outdoor seating area in the summer. Friendly efficient staff, great decor. Worth a stop

The sterling is located on the ground floor of the Gherkin which is an amazing place to be, especially at night! The staff was lovely and friendly.On top of that, prices are fair and the vibe is great! I highly recommend :

I go to the sterling quite often for business meals as well as to meet friends, at lunch or evening. The sterling has friendly staff and good options for food and drink. It would be good to offer daily specials as well as the usual menu, as some of the items do not change.

Went for Christmas lunch. Staff very friendly and managed our table of 10 well. Food arrived quickly and together. Small portions for each of the 3 courses. Sadly cannot give five stars for price of xmas menu and portion size. Location is perfect and good selection of drinks. Speisekarte ansehen

if they make a large group booking call and confirm, as it seems a problem with the restaurant with open reservations! after they have said that they managed to take up my party of 15 very quickly. the foods are very good value for money and I was very happy with the service. we were up, so the noise level was better than when we were down.

The Sterling based on the ground floor of The Gherkin building is a trendy bar with two floors. The ground floor is a general public access bar which serves cocktails, beer, wine, spirits. They also serve food. Upstairs there is a much smaller space which can be used for private hire such as drinks and canapes reception. Canapes were good and staff lovely.

After we had to sit for more than 20 minutes, we had to go inside to ask someone to come and take our drink and food order (which is not new to the sterling, they know that it will be busy on a sunny Thursday/ Friday, why do they always seem underoccupied? . I would go so far that the staff has beaten people. drink lasted old would have been faster to go into the packed bar! I had the salmon-nicoise salad, which was nice, but for £15.50 I would expect a little more than a piece of laughs, 3 baby new kartoffels, a half boiled egg, a few green beans and cherry tomatoes. the main selling point of the sterling was that you could eat outside in the sun, so that you could previously forgive the be...
