"The experience began with a meal that felt more suited for a young child. The bratkartoffeln were depressing—bland, pale, and soggy—while the vegetarian baked dish resembled an unappetizing slice from a nursing home, accompanied by dull green vegetables. It felt like a mass-produced meal from a cafeteria or community center, which was disappointing compared to the quality of food typically served in home-cooked pub settings. It was especially disheartening, as this was meant to be a pre-booked Christmas meal. Waiting two hours for service was excessive, and attention to our table was lacking both during the wait and after our food was served. Although the menu looked promising, the reality of the food and overall experience did not live up to expectations. Honestly, I wish we had saved our money and stayed home instead."

Had the roast turkey dinner. Absolutely delicious, Turkey was moist and tender. Only one small point would have loved a roast parsnip instead of peas! Great service from very friendly staff.

Hadn't been to the Thornhill Arms for about 4 years and found it had improved considerably this time. Good atmosphere, helpful staff and very good menu choices reasonably priced. An enjoyable lunch.

The only thing I would mention is that the bratkartoffeln had no flavor. The vegetables were acceptable, but I would prefer fresh beans over frozen ones. The meat was good, and the service was very good.

Most of the food was cold apart from the roasts and pigs in blanket. Also the gravy was cold. Unsure if has a plate warmer in the kitchen. Apart from that was OK. Green beans were add on top. Be nicer with Brussels maybe. Or side of coli cheese etc. Make bit more special. Expensive for what it was. Peacan tart was very hard also.

Carvery was very good with generous portions. Would have given 5 stars except some of the vegetables were a bit cold possibly not properly placed underneath the heating elements. However, This did not significantly impact our enjoyment of our meal. Service was also good but possibly new/inexperienced staff struggled with wine information. Overall very good, excellent value for money in a lovely room.
