"On my way home, I stopped at a restaurant for fish and chips to eat in the car. The small chips were surprisingly large, but unfortunately they were poorly wrapped by a young employee in need of more training. The two small cod pieces I ordered were already cooked and kept warm. The cod itself was okay, but the batter was inedible. It was slightly crispy on the outside but spongy and soggy underneath, unlike any batter I've had before. I ended up just eating the fish and feeling like I wasted my money. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant."

The chip shop is fantastic, with large portions and consistently friendly service. It's also reasonably priced and offers good value for money.

Delicious and top quality as usual despite turning up 20 minutes before afternoon closing time. Lunch time special of mini fish, sausage, chips and curry sauce was delicious.

you know that feeling when a place is good but then falls on its reputation and things slide? not here. been using this place for years and the standard is consistently high.

usual chippy was closed so we gave these a try cost 32 pounds for 2 fish 2 chicken large chips chips at 4.50 must have been made out of 2 potatoes hardly enough to go round and fish and chicken were dry

We had a decent fish and chip and large chips and battered sausage between two of us. The batter, fish and sausage were very good. The chips were good and the large portion absolutely enormous. A good value dinner option.

My wife had a small fish from here which she said was good however I had a large cod which was probably the worst fish I have ever had from a chip shop. Thick batter, completely over cooked and cold. Inedible. Will think twice before returning

As a big chippy fan/lover/enthusiast I can safely say that the Union Jack Fish and Chip Shop is up there in the top 5 chip shops I've ever been to and I reckon I've visited more than I should have. Food is ace, staff are speedy and polite, prices are spot on.

This restaurant would have received a 5-star rating, but unfortunately, the staff's attitude brings it down. The food is always excellent, but it's a shame that the majority of the staff are consistently unfriendly. Only one young man seems to have the right attitude. The rest of the staff never smile or greet customers. Despite this, I would still recommend this place to anyone. The long lines outside speak for themselves.
