"My first visit to this garden center was in the late afternoon, and we were in desperate need of coffee and cake. The cafe was still open, and we enjoyed coffees, a delicious carrot cake, and a brownie. The staff was lovely, and a small error in our order was quickly and generously resolved by Leo. All of the staff we encountered in the cafe were wonderful. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to thoroughly explore the garden center, but my friend returned the following day to purchase some garden furniture she had seen. I suspect she may have been there for another slice of carrot cake. We brought our puppy with us, and we were grateful that dogs are allowed in the garden center on the patio area of the cafe."

Price of 2 scones to take away was £3.10 each in a bag with no butter included same price as eat in. That makes them more expensive than Betty's fat rascals to buy. Not even the best scones by far. Shan't be returning.

If you’re vegan then don’t bother. You will be charged more money to eat in the restaurant than non vegans. We usually spend well over £100 each visit and have probably spent thousands over the years. We will never come back to this garden centre.

Oh dear, where have the wonderful scones gone. They are now a quarter of the size that they used to be, the size has decreased but the price has risen. Such a shame. I don't mind paying good money for quality products, please bring the best scones in Yorkshire back.

I have frequented this Garden Centre for years and always found the food okay. I came the other week and the new sandwiches were great, so much flavour! It's nice to see a bit of change on the menu. I always got the same thing before but I am looking forward to coming back and trying something new again!

I went to the restaurant with two friends for lunch and was pleased with the new menu! The classic coronation chicken sandwich was still on offer, along with gluten-free options. After being a regular customer for years, it was refreshing to see some menu changes while still maintaining the high quality. I will definitely return.

This place has been a 'go to ' venue for our family for many years. Disappointed today to see that the portion sizes have been reduced, and the prices seem to have gone up. Smaller plates make it look like you are still getting a lot but the salad portions are reduced and chips (which used to be included) are now extra. £40 for lunch for 3 (and we only had 1 course each) makes this an expensive family lunch out.

The new menu at this restaurant is disappointing. Many popular items have been removed and portion sizes have been reduced. They no longer offer prawns or egg mayonnaise, no longer serve chips with salad, and have decreased the amount of ham. I have been a loyal customer since the cafe first opened, often returning weekly for their prawn and ham salads, which used to come with chips on a large plate. It's a shame to see the decline in quality over the last few months.

I have been coming here for years as its a half way point for meeting friends. Always been lovely food, but this time noticed prices had shot up. I ordered a sandwich which was terrible the cheapest thinnest bread I've ever seen, it used to come in lovely bread with a nice salad and crisps, not anymore! My friends had a ciabatta and it wasn't a ciabatta. What a shame as it was always such good quality food. We wont be returning anymore. We were talking to another couple of tables who said exactly the same thing.

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
