"I had my doubts after reading the sole 2 Star review on Yelp, but the place was packed whenever we drove by, so we made a reservation for a traditional English Sunday roast, but with a twist, this place is a buffet. They apparently fixed the problems they had when they first opened, not uncommon. The place is new and tastefully furnished with a small bar and John Smiths, unfortunately, as their sole ale. We made a reservation for 6:45PM on a Sunday, being seated at 6:48PM, not bad. The service was friendly and efficient as it should be. You can Trade Up to a King Size at a cost of around £12 $16.25 , so the small ones must be £10.50 $14.25 or so. I am guessing because I did not see the prices anywhere, not having looked at the menu why order a starter at a buffet? and because our friends treated us. The rule is for any size plate one trip for meat and as many as you want for the sides dishes. They start by literally tossing a Yorkshire pudding on the plate and the choice of meats included roast pork, turkey, ham and beef in that order. I assume you get about the same weight in meat no matter how many you choose, so I asked for the pork and beef. The serving size was adequate, not too much and not too little. The Yorkshire pudding was a bit too dry in the middle, consequence of making so many at once and leaving them sitting under a heat lamp for so long. Then there were the choices of sides: roasted potatoes, stuffing/dressing, mashed potatoes plain and with mustard seed , green beans, peas, some orange things I never heard of, scalloped potatoes, creamed cauliflower, brown gravy, and horseradish, mint and cranberry sauces. Beside the pudding, I had the roasted and mashed potatoes I did not care for the mustard variety , some stuffing, scalloped potatoes and cauliflower with brown gravy on nearly everything and horseradish sauce on the beef. Brilliant as the locals would say. The food was very good and a decent TravelValue for the price. Make sure you trade up to the large plate for an extra €1.50 and extra meat, including a couple of sausages. Traditional Sunday roast buffet style ... HOOAH! The downside: 1 The parking lot is not big enough for the number of cars .... the place was packed; 2 Beer/ale selection was inadequate; and 3 the Yorkshire pudding was not fresh too dry CombatCritic Gives Toby Carvery 7 Bombs Out Of 10 ... I love it with the carvery. from the smell of how to go in the door, the good choice of meat and sweet and feel filled as they go out the door. a special mention for the service goes to claire, who is always very friendly and helpful.

Popped in for impromptu lunch. Lucky to get a table in this busy restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive and the roast offered was delicious. We waited a little for our favourite meat to be replenished and enjoyed the great range of vegetable dishes. Perfect lunch. Speisekarte ansehen

for the first time on wed 6. juli with my friend andy did not come there until 9.30 a.m., but the staff made us very welcome, that was still very hot and I enjoyed every bit of it. so on the sa. 8. juli I and my friend decided to go strood to dig, it took us 2 hours, but worth all mouthful and then we went back, last time eating was very nice and the staff was nice so well made x

I booked a table for four on line which was very easy to do. On arrival we were shown straight to our table and our drinks order promptly taken by a very pleasant young lady. The restaurant was very busy but we usually find this to our advantage because the food is hot and fresh. Going back to the young lady that served us, she was most helpful and nothing seemed to much trouble for her she even found time to take a quick photo for us. We have been to the Gravesend Toby on several occasions and this experience will certainly make us visit again.

I made an online reservation for a table for 3 but unexpectedly needed to add an extra person. I called in the morning and easily changed the booking to 4. We arrived early and were happy to wait in the bar area. Our table was ready before our scheduled time and we were seated promptly. I had a conversation with our waitress about our daughter, who doesn't eat much and was recommended a children's meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant policy did not allow sharing, which is understandable. The service was excellent and we were very happy with our experience. We will definitely be returning xx. My partner is a meat-eater, so we came to this restaurant for him. I am vegan, so I always ask the chef which dishes are suitable for me. Unfortunately, during our last visit, the chef seemed unsure about the ingredients in some of the dishes. In the past, I have been given incorrect information about which dishes are vegan, such as being told that macaroni and cheese was vegan when it actually contained milk. They did prepare a separate cauliflower dish for me without cheese, but there is a high risk of cross-contamination with non-vegan foods for other diners. While they always provide me with a clean separate plate, the overall setup of the restaurant is not very vegan-friendly.

Easy enough to book online about 2 years since we last went. Pleasantly surprised open arrival as greeted by a waitress and led to our seats. We were asked if we were having the carvery and wanted to order drinks which we did. Tables were very clean despite it being quite busy at 5.15pm. Drinks arrived and we were advised we Could join a small queue for the carvery. The carvery was very nice and was accompanied by some banter from the cook. The food was enjoyable. Once finished the waitress asked if we wanted some puds which we promptly ordered. Again the afters hit the sweet spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our early evening out. We asked for the bill. We left a reasonable tip for a friendly...
