Refused to accept booking due to a head office arranged training session for the evening, so closed ; even though the website still showed them as open!! Unacceptable !!

It's was a lovely meal , I book on line and had confirmation but when we got to the restaurant my book was not on the booking list just lucky the restaurant had a spare table was not happy also my 18month granddaughter had a small plate ask if we could have a small piece of turkey for her and was told he should not and gave her piece but not happy chef. Will phone and book next time .

26 minutes soon advised and was asked to wait what we did. but tables very dirty and not from past peoples lunch, dirty tellers, uneaten eating and chaos around. a chef in white was at the end to clean the tables. extremely slow service from our waitresses who have never given as much as their names or have shown us where something was or even has explained to us that sharpened us. it seems to be a very general lack of personal. but in the words, we had a very good meal, much meat hot vegs etc.

This topped to be my worst dining experience in my life. The whole experience was appalling. Carvery was disgusting. Service non existent. Manager a poor excuse of a person. Some staff were VERY rude. Toilets were disgusting. Never ever going back. Will be reporting my experience to Mitchell Butlers direct. More so as they embarrassed me I used to be a manager for Toby Restaurants many years ago and what I experienced would result in summary dismissal for the manager and all employees in my day.

A fantastic spot to check out when you're feeling carnivorous! The portions are generous and the prices are budget-friendly. For those with an elephant-sized appetite, they even offer a "super disc" plate, perfect for those looking to indulge and really load up on meat. To be honest, I often struggle to finish the regular-sized plate, and while my partner lovingly calls me a "gentleman of stature," my doctor just refers to me as overweight! (Time to find a new doctor!) It's a wonderful meal solution when you want someone else to do the cleanup!

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed until 6:00 PM due to a leak in the kitchen, which was not mentioned on their website. There was no food available until 6:20 PM, leading to a chaotic rush at the servery. This was unfair to those who had been waiting since 5:45 PM or earlier; the situation could have been better managed by all staff, including the duty manager. Some of the meats, like turkey and beef, had clearly been sitting out since before we arrived, and the vegetables appeared to have been hastily prepared, not meeting the usual standard. When I arrived at the restaurant after making an online reservation, there was no table available for me. The manager told me I must have shown up on the wrong day. However, when I showed him the proof of my booking on my tablet, instead of turning me away, he took the initiative to clear a table for me. That was a great display of customer service! My server was also quite lovely. Unfortunately, the meal itself did not meet the standard of my previous visit earlier this year. After a long wait, there was no pork available, and the beef I received was stone-cold. The Yorkshire pudding was also cold, there were no roast potatoes, and the vegetable options were limited to just peas and carrots...

We arrived for the meal at Toby to celebrate my grand daughters birthday {her choice} .We had our drink orders taken but not brought to the table for some time.We then went to the carvery to get our meal,no sign of anyone serving after a wait a man came through to serve, choice of meat put on plate and handed the plate holding the plate in our napkin in case plate hot choice of veg etc put on plate very limited gravy available or sauces no one around to ask for refills of these .
