Tosca - Speisekarte

My Husband and I often dine at Tosca, always great. Visited today for a birthday, ordered the fillet steak, very particular about the way I like it cooked, It was exactly cooked as my request, beautiful, Tosca never fails to please, plus lovely pleasant staff, great day.

Went back for a quick meal before the match and the standards haven't changed at all. Great portions, great quality of food and the staff cannot be more helpful. The portion size are very generous so don't over do it on the cheese garlic bread for starters as one is more than enough for two persons. Very reasonable on the wallet as well!

Not sure if taken over or new work force in charge of things post-Covid19 but this used to be one of our favourite restaurants in the North East. Clumsy server spilling food off plates as placing on table. Can be a busy restaurant still by all accounts so more servers would ease service standards. Will return to see if it was just an off day. Visited here a few times lately and each occasion, we’ve been served by the wonderful Claire. What an absolute delight she is, nothing’s a problem, so friendly, professional and works well under pressure. Because this is a busy restaurant a lot of the time. And rightly so, the food is delicious!! I can understand why it’s been a success in Sunderland for so long. Looking forward to our next visit.

Don't sack the chef Been a good few times during the summer. Food is of good quslity and quantity. The measure of a good Italian is how to make a pollo rosemarino. It was good :no artifical browning demi glace sauce; just the simplest basics; flattenedchicken breast,olive oil,rosemary and a slight touch of lemon at the end; king prawns aliglio fantastic;will try fillet steak next time. Very popular early on so book or be diasappointed.

Booked our table for 7 30 tonight my birthday spolit as we felt so rushed 8.45 pm asked to see sweet menu or il see what's left the waitress said.The staff were then cleanig sweeping up around us .Made us feel really uncomfortable so we never had a sweet we felt we needed to go 9.15 paid our bill we wont be coming back in hurry Then at .8pm 3 people came to the restaurant there were empty tables they were turned away. Table of four on a Saturday evening. All went for starters and a main washed down with two bottles of red wine. Service was okay, not much interaction, very business like. Starters served promptly, but only three of the main courses two pasta dishes and a pizza arrived together the final pizza being served as the others in our party finished theirs. The final pizza was of a poor standard, looked like it had been rushed out. The bill came to just under £80, all in all just okay.

I was a 'chance ' as in I had not booked! The girls were very accommodating, in finding me a table and setting it up. The menu was good and there were plenty of options. I had a mini seafood starter, peppered steak and chips, and trio of puddings. All of them were well cooked and tasty/good value for money. The wine was nice, fair-priced for what I was drinking. The restaurant was busy and the staff were rushing around, a fourth person turned up and that helped, but generally, you had to wait a little bit. The waitresses were charming, helpful and friendly.

The service was very poor not sure if they were under staffed. Main meals came with the wrong pasta they admitted they did it wrong as they served us. Everybody getting there main so just said OK we will keep it. Then no dessert menu given. We were massively over charged by £30 on final bill. They put 7 drinks on our bill we didn't get so had to have the bill changed. We asked for the bill and waited 40 minutes for it. I have been here loads of times and don't get why a good place to eat is now so bad. My advice is check your bill and maybe go somewhere else I will be in the future. Speisekarte ansehen
