"Before I start, I want to say that the restaurant owner has reached out to us to apologize and make this right. This review is based on the events of the night. TLDR: Starters took an hour to arrive, and we gave up on further food after 90 minutes and left. Were told the order had not gone through the system, but the front of house staff didn’t notice we weren’t eating or clear the empty glasses from our table and ask if we wanted a second round. We watched other tables eat 3 courses (although we were not the only table who left unhappy). We were a table of 5 who booked in for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We had to leave a £10 per person deposit to hold the table, fair enough. The website also stated that we had to pre order our meals, which seems a little strange for a table of 5 (I could understand if we were twice as many). A phone call confirmed that we didn’t have to pre order, so the website could do with updating as this might put people off. We arrived a few minutes early, sat down and ordered some cocktails and then our food (starters and main course). After an hour we had finished our drinks, the empties hadn’t been cleared away and nobody asked if we wanted more. We then asked what had happened to our starters and suggested some chips and dip for the table while we waited. After checking we were told that our starters were being plated up and there was not point in getting chips (one of our party wasn’t having a starter and by then was getting pretty hungry). The starters were delicious when we finally got them. After flagging down a server for another round of drinks, we waited, watching other table arrive after us, and be served their meals. I was beginning to wonder if we had done something wrong when I saw someone from another table to go the kitchen hatch and collect their own food (they later also left the restaurant unhappy). When we did ask what the delay was, the staff were not helpful, or apologetic. We finally gave up on getting our food and left. During the evening the owner (also the chief) was in the kitchen working away. He seemed unaware of the issues going on in the front of house, and nobody apologised to us, or offered to put things right until we left (the owner did email us the next day and has been working with us to make amends)."

"Have been here several times and always go for the evening buffet. Which you can do at lunch or dinner time. It £29.99 a person but you can eat, as much as you like. The portions are small which is great as it means you can have lots of different things rather than the masses they give you when you order a take away. Service is always good, food hot and delicious. Really recommend. "We have visited this restaurant three times and each time the food has been fantastic. The only issue we encountered during our last visit was with the seating. We chose to sit by the window, but unfortunately it was very cold and we had to keep our coats on."

"The roast was decent but the potatoes were old and tough. The burger was pretty small and basic, the burger sauce was non existent. The donburi was lacking sauce too that we had to ask for more, without it it would have been a lot of plain rice. The time it took for our food order to be taken was long as well as the time it took for the food to arrive. We have nothing against live music but when it started none of us could have a conversation, in fact the staff were having to shout the specials to other customers. Maybe it's best saved for later in the evening. All in all it was pretty average which is a shame for how much you are spending along with what is a great looking restaurant/bar."

"This Bistro is for me, a wonderful find with an amazingly comprehensive menu to suit everyone who enjoys good quality fresh homemade food and wine. The service is friendly professional in a relaxed shabby chic clean environment. I am looking to return to taste all the delicious choices on the menu and also buy their frozen products for when I don't want to cook. Great prices and an all round brilliant place to eat. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian dishes were on the menu. Parking: Free Parking all around the adjacent park. Wheelchair accessibility: It's a small Bistro but with good ramp at entrance for wheelchair."
