Popped in for breakfast at start of first proper break since March What a perfect choice. From the moment we walked in staff were so friendly and helpful. Service subtle but fantastic. Food was equally excellent what a great choice

Lovely cafe upstairs of a fab' delicatessen. We ordered the quiche of the day and the veggie burrito and were pleasantly surprised at the huge plates of food that were served up. It was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. Highly recommend.

two breakfasts were ordered here and they were each, the sausages were undercooked and there was no black pudding, admittedly it was substituted with a hash brown ,the americano coffee was also served in a smaller cup that i would normally expect.Very poor value...for money . Speisekarte ansehen

This is a cafe we have started going to very regularly as it has excellent customer service as well as excellent food. The staff are so friendly and helpful , it has a very varied menu with well cooked and beautifully presented food. We look...forward to going as often as we can. And of course you can buy a lot of what you have eaten downstairs in the deli. What a bonus.

We came here for a drink after being nearby. Shown upstairs after saying we wanted a drink, but we're carried away by the aromas coming out the kitchen. Too late for breakfast and too early forclunch, we opted for toasted fruit loaf, with a cup...of tea. Proper cup and saucer, tea made with leaves and a strainer to make sure no leaves escape!! Friendly staff and reasonably priced. A lovely place to stop and while away a hour of so.

The last time my wife and I ate here was three years ago (pandemic What a delight to return. Warm welcome from great staff. The food was excellent. My wife had a toasty which she enjoyed I had soup which was extremely hot and tasty....I have never had soup served with a savory scone, which was unusual, very large and extremely yummy. Three of my friends and I were searching for a spot to have a light lunch after our visit to the vet museum. We were served tea in a pot and delicate China cups, and the food was both delicious and plentiful. My coronation chicken roll was filling enough to be a meal on its own. The restaurant was clean and the facilities were impeccable. The menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. The only downside was that the stairs were a bit steep, which could be challenging for individuals with mobility issues.

Very surprised at the positive reviews of this place given the slop we were served this morning. Slapped on the plate, absolutely no effort to present it nicely. Everything was covered in burnt bits from the pan. The bacon had a layer of that white...fatty residue all over it (clearly not freshly cooked), sausage was still pink in the middle. The only pleasant thing was the toast and beans! Genuinely shocked that a restaurant would willingly send this standard of food out. I’d expect something similar at a lay bay cafe/van.

I was in search of a place to grab a meal one Saturday afternoon, during a light drizzle and on a race day when many places were closed. That's when I stumbled upon Upstairs Downstairs Tearooms. Despite the busy atmosphere, I was directed to a table upstairs and handed a menu. After placing my order for a meal and a pot of tea, my food arrived promptly. I enjoyed a delicious individual meat pie served with a variety of accompaniments, all on a bed of fresh leaves. The service was top-notch and the price was reasonable.
