Wahaca Islington - Speisekarte

I liked the courtesy of the waiter when taking the order, it was the first time we went and he recommended us his favourite dishes such as crab tostadas or the carnitas, plus a bottle of wine made my parents feel at ease.

Lovely waitress but the food was terrible. There are some amazing Mexican restaurants here in London and we thought we’d give this a try. We were a little shocked at how bad the food was. Super friendly waitstaff but we won’t be back.

Two of us shared the vegetarian set menu and thought it was delicious! So much food! We were told items would come out at different times which we were fine with. Everything actually came out at more or less the same time, which meant some dishes were starting to cool by the time we got to them. Attentive and helpful staff, friendly atmosphere. Long standing family favorite, we took our son to Wahaca for lunch on Sunday. Good guacamole and chips, with nice Margaritas. Food was pretty good (shout out to the pork pibil tacos and cheese bean quesadilla), service not bad. Setting is nice. It feels a bit like the menu needs a revamp though, as beyond the usual things we order we were struggling a bit.

Early dinner with grandchildren we all left hungry! Portions are very small (ordered classics for adults and kid’s menu) and overpriced. First time ever my grandson of 8 (with a normal appetite) had to order another portion of food. Drinks not much better. Husband ordered a mojito which was 60% crushed iced and 40% mojito. Average service. No ambience. Won’t be going again.

Our family of five visited on a busy Friday night without a reservation and had some fun playing table football while waiting for a table. The kids had not eaten Mexican food before and found trying and sharing the food a lot of fun. Our server was nice and friendly but the restaurant seemed rather understaffed. We went to this restaurant after exhibiting in Islington for a business trip. The staff had more people than I think they were anticipating (due to an event so the service was a bit slow but they were really nice about it and apologetic. The food was absolutely lovey… not had much in the way of Mexican food (other than fajitas and nachos! but this was absolutely delicious. Thoroughly recommend going… hoping to go again next time we are over in Islington!

Delicious food, would recommend the chicken quesadillas. Be careful with phones wallets on the table whilst we were eating, a man came over with a leaflet and put it on the table over one of our phones. Luckily we caught on and were holding our hands over them, but be careful! Staff were quick to intervene and remove the man from the restaurant. They then warned us that this is a regular occurrence in the area and thieves will often do this to steal phones wallets from people’s tables

Music is ridiculously loud, and this place is understaffed. What staff there are were ok in the beginning, but seemed to quickly lose interest. Our cups and plates piled up until we asked 2 or 3 times for them to be removed. Our bottomless nachos indeed had a bottom, as we found it and no one ever came to refill. Sat there for 45 mins after finishing our food and weren't offered more drinks or the bill were just ignored. The bill came with a 30 quid service charge on it which given we'd had a dirty table for most of the night seemed a bit excitable. Pricey, passable food in small portions, inconsistent service, not enough staff and those who were there did not care that much. Speisekarte ansehen
