Wheelers Bakery - Speisekarte

The food here is excellent but the staff just seem unhelpful and not very friendly. Who says the customer is always right?

We have ordered multiple rolls and each time they are amazing! Delivery via Uber has always turned up on time and never had any issues with the order! Will be ordering again very soon!

Not sure what’s happened today but I don t think this portrays what is shown on their facebook website as this was a tuna salad roll today. Women who served was miserable sulky and I will not ever return after many years.

Visited a number of times now as there food is generally really good but due to the terrible service by a lady in there who is full of attitude I will not be using this bakery again, the young girl who works here is always jolly and polite but unfortunately the other staffs attitude is disgusting.

This bakery offers both takeaway and delivery services. The food is delicious and always fresh. The establishment is clean and the staff is friendly. We have been customers for 30 years and have never found another bakery in or around Portsmouth that compares. Once you visit, you will keep coming back.

Wheelers have always set a high standard of cake supply and owing to the recent closure of my nearest source of fresh cream cakes, I have ben buying from Wheelers or Greggs. However recently for the same price Wheelers have appreciably reduced the size of their cream cakes for the same price. The quality is still there but this is making me reconsider.

I love having a traditional bakery nearby, and the cake selection is fantastic and very reasonably priced. However, I am confused about the pricing. Why is a plaited roll nearly a pound more expensive than other breads with the same filling, especially when it has less filling capacity? In all fairness to Wheelers, their menu does specify that they use margarine instead of butter. While I understand the cost difference, it's a shame that the roll had an overwhelming taste of margarine.

I use the bakery quite a lot. Today Saturday I went to pick up rolls and cakes. I was second in the queue out side the shop. Yes it's great your doing Uber orders but please have more staff working. I waited for at least 12 minutes, while one person was doing the orders for Uber then the person in the shop wanted orders as well. It seemed that only one person was making up the orders. A couple of people walked away while I was waiting. By the time the Uber man collected his orders there was at least 12 people waiting at outside shop.

I used to frequent this bakery at least twice a week and have always enjoyed it. I often bring friends and family here as well. The staff are not as friendly as I had hoped, but I can overlook that. The quality of the food can be hit or miss - some days good, some days horrible. Unfortunately, during my latest visit, the roll I ordered was hard and had a horrible taste. I was very disappointed, especially since I had a similar experience during my previous visit. I used to enjoy the food here, but I don't think I will be returning. I typically spend between £15 to £25 each visit. It's a shame, but I guess all good things must come to an end.
