"The Thai food at this pub was surprisingly delicious. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time as seating is limited. The beef pa nang curry had a great spicy kick and was very tasty. The lunchtime deal of a main and a pint for £11 was a great value. It was a nice change to see an alcohol-free beer on tap. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, a great choice for a lunchtime meal with prices ranging from £10-20 per person."

"We had dinner here during our short visit to Aylesbury mainly prompted by the great reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint in any way. As others have said, the team have the balance just right in terms of a genuinely warm welcome, background music that was eclectic and discreet enough to mask other guests' conversations, great food served attractively at a table dressed in crisp white linen in fact the whole restaurant was a tasteful blend of new and old. We had good advice about the dishes ad serving sizes and accompaniments (we had eaten a large lunch so didn't want to over order! . Each dish was delicious. The scallops (small plate served as my main course and it was amazing as was the cheese and chive mash that accompanied it. I would definitely return if we are ever in the area."

"Made a visit to The Angel after establishing that it was once again a restaurant post Covid. The reservation system is a little outdated as there's no contact number and communication is only by email. On this visit the food was very good but not outstanding. It would have been a pleasant experience but for the atmosphere inside the place, deathly quiet. What service we received was fine, quite friendly when in operation but attracting attention was a challenge. Our orders taken, our food delivered but no casual visit to ask if things were ok or to see if we needed anything. This isn't helped by the fact that diners are seated in different rooms within the building but bearing this in mind perhaps the staff should make an effort to move around restaurant to check in with diners more frequently. Overall the experience was pleasant, the food good, the deserts superb, however for the price we paid I would choose a more relaxing and warm dining experience, available at other high quality restaurants in the area, in favour of The Angel."

"My family went to this pub for a birthday lunch earlier this month. We are frequent visitors of The Old Swan in Cheddington, so we decided to check out their sister pub. It was a wonderful experience! The menu was diverse and exciting, the service was top-notch, and the prices were fair. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning in the future. "I chose this restaurant based on its reviews and location. I easily booked a room online for £115 for the night (double en suite). Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to our room, which was spacious and had an excellent shower room. The fridge in the room was stocked with milk and orange juice, and a continental breakfast was included. The room was clean and quiet, set back from the road. The reception area in the restaurant was cozy and inviting. We dined in the bar and ordered food and drinks, which were delicious. We also enjoyed the 'open mike night'. Parking is available for both pub guests and staying guests. If you're looking for a unique pub with comfortable accommodations, I highly recommend this place and would definitely return."

"found the pub online came back from a fun filled weekend at the Asbury resorts and there Sunday roast was to DIE for! Me and 5 girfriends were very hungry the service was prompt we had the most divine beef croquettes which made them all jealous . The we had desserts too! "Absolutely brilliant pub. The pub itself is clean and well kept, the decoration is modern but suitable for such an old building. The toilets were absolutely immaculate. The drinks choice, while a little expensive, was good, need to carbonate the Fizzy drinks a bit more though. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The real treat is the drinking garden which boasts stunning views. I would highly recommend this pub"

"We had our wedding meal at The Hundred for 40 people and it was a five-star experience. The planning process with Ellie, the owner, was efficient and accommodating as she helped us create a buffet-style menu that took into consideration all dietary restrictions. The food was diverse, delicious, and everyone was impressed with the quality considering the large group. The service from Ellie and her team was top-notch both before and during the event, as they were always attentive to our needs and even helped set up the flowers we brought. Overall, we couldn't fault anything and are grateful to The Hundred staff for making our day so special."

"This lovely pub, located in a charming village, has become my favorite spot since I moved here 6 weeks ago. I have been enjoying their delicious Roast beef every Sunday, which simply melts in your mouth. Pete, the chef, is truly amazing. During the week, I have been working my way through the menu and every dish has been delightful, even the salads (and I am not usually a fan of rabbit food). The couscous is especially tasty. I must also mention the fantastic Rothschild wine vinegar they offer, which is not commonly found in pubs. I keep coming back for more. The landlady, Carly, is wonderful and her warm smile always makes me feel welcome. What more could you ask for?"

Only negatives were the conservatory was slightly cold, they had run out of honeycomb ice cream but instead just gave vanilla without informing us and the creme anglaise had split. "I really can't fault this village pub. We visited in early January for an evening meal, the welcome was genuine which was complimented by good food and drink. Having returned to the area to catch up with friends earlier this month, we again chose to eat here, we were not disappointed. The same pleasant welcome, really enjoyable food and good ales. Friends and their children joined us later, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food is varied and the steak that I had was cooked as ordered. I will not hesitate to return and it is dog friendly in the bar area. If it was not for that option we may not have visited the first time! A great village pub."

"How disappointed were we when we booked a table for four at this restaurant. The meal and staff were adequate but the unpleasant smell that was around us was slightly disturbing. After finishing our meal we spotted behind my chair dog poo which I did not step in yet could have easily done so. On making this aware to the staff a man, presumably the manager, although he did not say who he was informed us that they are a dog friendly restaurant and are not responsible for the dogs that come to the restaurant with their owners! Surely the staff should not only clear the tables but also do a sweep around the area of where their customers are eating to see if the floors need cleaning after being occupied with customers? The manager? offered us a free drink when we were leaving and quite honestly did not seem that concerned about what had happened, refuting responsibility as a restaurant that has dog poo on the floor behind the chair where we were eating. God knows how I did not step in it when I pulled back my chair to leave. I have never had anything like this happen before when visiting dog friendly restaurants and pubs as have dogs myself, as do the other people with me. We will not be going back there as the way the problem was handled did not help customer satisfaction, the incident was handled badly and the response seemed flippant when considering the effect it had on us all!"

"My wife and I own a number of pubs in the Harrow area. Looking to add another one to our portfolio, but in the countryside, and having been advised by a brewery rep that this pub was for sale, we chose to make a “...secret squirrel “ visit to check it out. The parking in the village was impossible, so we were pleased to see two cars finally leave the pubs own car park. Before we could reverse back up the high street a grey Land Rover beat us to it , but took up both parking places. I politely spoke to the owner of the Land Rover as to why he occupied both spaces. His reply was an unintelligible mumbled grunt, so I continued to back out of the car park into the High Street where we waited for a space to become free several hundred of yards away. As we then walked to the pub we saw that the Land Roger driver was waiting for us. We went in through the front door, he went into the side entrance. My wife and I then considered what to drink, only to find that the man took up position behind the bar. He then loudly accused us of being rude to him and became aggressive and evil tempered. He told his staff to not serve us and an argument then ensued. He ejected my wife and I from the pub. It is surprise that this landlord needs to sell his pub ; needless to say, my wife and I won’t be buying it !"

"I never give bad reviews but great tasty meal and reasonably priced for food. Drinks were absolutely extortionate but I guess that's how they make their money! A group of 10 celebrating a birthday. They took drinks order seperate, which was strange. After telling them 2 or 3 tines we needed seperate bills as everyone wanted to pay for their own meals etc, they presented us with a jumbled up bill, which was only food. Drink was on a seperate bill, which they would not give us to work out the extra cost. Everyone added up exactly what they had and we all paid separately. They then came to our table and said that we was £9 short. This did not make sense. We asked again to see the bill, so we could work it our for ourselves and they conviently said they had lost it, so how did they know we was £9 short. Either the menu prices weren't correct or they are diddling their customers. All in all, lovely food great company but s**t hosting skills!!!!! First time there, not impressed!!! Would return BUT would tally up as we go."

"avoid at all costs this indefinitely not an authentic turkish restaurant the we ordered 2 mixed doner kebab's, these were not make from fresh cooked meat and were frozen and either reheated on a hot plate or in a microwave and had never seen a gyros machine. tasted like fake cheap meat The salad was coleslaw one again no onions, tomatoes, cucumber or cabbage. the bread was half a slice of flatbread not turkish bread or even pitta bread. No hummus or bread while you're waiting and the chilly sauce was from a 5 lite jar not made on site either. The venue really carries noise when we were seated we could hear every word sentence pause and breath the female couple were saying who were 3 metres away. they also added a 12.5% service charge not disclosed on the menu. Also the prices have been increased dramatically from the prices on the menu shown here. We so wanted this to be a nice place and only saving grace was the lovely young waitress who was polite and well spoken."
