"We went on a rainy Friday evening in November at 5 pm. It wasn 't particularly busy. After a while, someone came to take our drinks orders. The drinks seemed to take ages to actually arrive and the food took a while too. I bought the vegetarian platter. It 's advertised as a meal for one or a sharing starter for two. I was pleasantly surprised. It had vegetarian meatballs in a marinara sauce that were really good, giant couscous that I thought was lacking in flavour, Bang-bang cauliflower that was quite spicy, humous which was good and the star; their delicious onion Bhajis. I bought a side order of chunky chips. They seemed a bit bland. They also have perfectly seasoned chips on the menu. These must be their unseasoned chips. My wife and I thought the main menu didn 't have a great deal of choice, we asked for the dessert menu but didn 't fancy anything. No dishes with custard, no cheesecake and few options if you don 't fancy desserts with chocolate or caramel. The food was good, the service could have been better. We were upstairs, but the staff didn 't come up to see if we wanted more drinks until they had something to bring. One of our party ordered another drink with the dessert he bought. It never came as the server clearly forgot to do it. It wasn 't on the bill. I really dislike restaurants that presume to add a 10% device charge to your bill. Service is included and a tip is voluntary. Still, on a bill of £120 (four 4 people), if they only want 10%, that 's fine with me. If they had left it blank, they 'd have got a few quid more. I went downstairs to pay as the card machine upstairs wouldn 't work. I found the serving staff all at the bar chatting. It 's not my job to tell restaurants how to run their business, but appointing a manager who could encourage them to venture upstairs from time to time might be helpful."

"I recently had the opportunity to stay at Manor House and wanted to share my thoughts on the overall experience. While the hotel had its positives, there were a few aspects that left me disappointed. Starting with the room, it was clean and well-maintained. The average-sized room provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. However, considering the price I paid for the room, I expected a bit more in terms of luxury and modernity. It lacked that extra touch that would have made it truly exceptional. One aspect that stood out during my stay was the exorbitant prices of the alcohol at the hotel's bar. Unfortunately, indulging in a drink or two became a costly affair. The high prices made it difficult to enjoy a casual evening without feeling like I was being taken advantage of. This was a major downside for me, as I believe that reasonable pricing is crucial for a well-rounded hotel experience. On a positive note, the breakfast at Manor House was a delightful experience. The lovely spread of options available was impressive, and the quality of the food was excellent. It was evident that the hotel took pride in offering a satisfying breakfast experience to its guests. However, my experience with one particular waitress with blonde hair left much to be desired. Upon arriving for breakfast at a later time, her attitude towards me was horrendous. Her demeanor was unprofessional and unwelcoming, which significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel's service. It is important for all staff members to treat guests with respect and courtesy, regardless of the time they arrive for breakfast. In conclusion, my stay at Manor House had its ups and downs. While the room was clean and the breakfast was lovely, the expensive alcohol prices and the horrendous attitude of one particular waitress were disappointing. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and breakfast, but caution potential guests to be prepared for the possibility of encountering less-than-friendly staff members."
