"We have visited this restaurant twice in the past week because we enjoyed it so much. The first time, we brought a very young child who happily explored the surroundings with playful sounds of delight. Our second visit was with the elderly grandparents, who were also warmly welcomed by the helpful staff. The menu offers daily specials, even on Sundays. The roast beef and Yorkshire pudding were cooked to perfection, and the Cajun salmon was equally delicious. The portions were generous and cooked just right. The desserts were tempting, and they have a wide selection of wines, with the option to try four different ones by the glass. They also offer a variety of ales. The service was attentive, friendly, and not rushed. We hope to return soon and highly recommend this restaurant, as it offers good value for the quality of food and service provided."

Never fails to give a variety of options for a special diet and it is always hot, tastes good, and looks attractive. All served in a lovely dining room with table cloths and linen napkins. If you want a special meal this is the place,

We booked a table for Sunday lunch at 1.30. Arrived in good time, lovely warm pub but quite surly bar staff met us, we went to our table, ordered quite promptly but then waited 1 hour 15 mins before our roasts arrived, very poor quality, dry meat, hard roast potatoes, a cauliflower cheese that was unrecognisable! All in all a very unsatisfactory meal. Attentive waitresses asking us if the meal was okay, what could we say! not their responsibility to cook a decent sunday roast. Sorry but we would not re-visit. Food was awful, any chef that sends out burnt Yorkshire puddings has to question their profession. Cauliflower cheese had too much flour and not enough butter ended up with a Cake type texture. Ingredients used and cooking abilities of this kitchen are below average but charging above average prices for food. Service was excellent and can’t fault the staff, kitchen needs a good sort out though. Set in the lovely quintessential English village of Brqughing in Hertfordshire, The Golden Fleece is all that you could wish for in fine countryside dining. The pub is situated on the B1368 with adequate parking and a lovely garden and patio area. Inside the roaring inglenook fire welcomes you on cold winter evenings and the bar is friendly and comfortable. Excellent choices of real ales and the choice of wine and gins is exceptional.
