"I've been a satisfied customer for many years as it used to be one of the best value for money takeaways in Guildford. However, the past few years they’ve engaged in huge price hikes. E.g., for a pita yeeros the price prior to 2018 used to be below £4. In 2018, the price for the same item was £4.20. Then until today, the price has gone from £4.20, to £4.50, to £4.60, to £5, and now to £6. This is a 43% price increase in 4 years! Another example is the portion. From less than £8.50 to £12.50! This is annual change of around 10%. Similar price increases for most of their products. On top of the price hikes, the terrible thing for me is that size of the pita wraps has actually decreased! I was so disappointed to see that the pita wrap was significantly smaller to what it used to be. Smaller pita and less ingredients. I really felt deceived as a customer! This is NOT a way to run a successful and viable business. The massive price hikes the smaller portions cannot be explained by increases in cost of products, rent, or anything else that they once told me when I asked them. It is purely because the owners think they can make more money by increasing the prices and cutting down on size, instead of increasing their sales. Similar takeaways in town have NOT increased their annual prices by 10% nor have they decreased the size of their portions! Actually, some of them have kept the same prices since 2018! It was great as long as it lasted but all good things come to an end."

"Don't come for Sunday lunch. We've been here an hour and still no initial drinks, let alone any food. Seems to be only kids waiting and no communication at all. Just been informed no lamb roast which we ordered over 40 minutes ago. UPDATE Next day: have added one star to food which was ok and another star to overall as per below. We were told that the young lad had forgotten to pass the order ticket to the chef which was not great. This was the reason I had missed my lamb roast as other orders after mine meant it ran out. He was very apologetic but then didn't take care when putting the meals down and while apologising, poured some gravy off the plate edge over my wife's mobile. It was quickly retrieved and wiped and thankfully no damage. The food tasted ok although the burgers seemed light on fillings beef patty, lettuce, gherkin and burger sauce not even a tomato in sight. Run out of those too? The waitress in charge did take 10% off the bill at the end and apologised again. At least they recognised the poor service but I would much rather have a nice, tasty, organised meal at full price. Sadly, I won't be recommending this pub, maybe a quiet lunchtime as we have done once before might be the limit. Definitely not a Sunday lunch though. Note it wasn't just our table affected one elderly couple had their meal delivered to the wrong table by another of the young lads, and shortly after, the same lad got a gentleman's beer order wrong not once but twice. Thankfully he seemed amused by it all. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"
