"visited your restaurant Bella Italia in Plymouth tonight and all I can say is that I am absolutely appalled by the customer service and wait times. The restaurant was not that busy or full but the staff just do not understand how to run the business. When we entered we were greeted by an unfriendly member of staff who rudely told us that our booked table was not ready, which was fine so we waited. We were finally sat down and ordered drinks these arrived and we placed our starter and main orders. 30 minutes go by and a staff member asks if we would like more drinks we decline as we are still waiting for our starters. During this time a staff member is offering free drinks (lemon cello) to upset customers and the manager is just hiding behind the bar, obviously this is not good enough seems as the few tables that were in the restaurant were all waiting for something. An hour then goes by of us just waiting and we finally decide to cancel the order and leave, when we ask to cancel the kitchen hadn’t even started on the ticket an hour after we had placed it, then as we are talking to the member of staff about cancelling she says that’s £8 to pay for the drinks. The disrespect to ask us to pay for our drinks when we have been waiting over an hour at this point for food that hadn’t even been started. We had our booking for 8:30 and we left the restaurant at 9:45. The fact that this could happen especially on Valentine’s Day is ridiculous and absolutely ruined our evening. I won’t be returning to this restaurant and I suggest you look into how this branch is being run because on multiple occasions the service has not been good in this location, however this evening was the final straw."

"There is no alternative to dairy on their starters, as apparently all their food is pre prepared.... Their goats cheese is apparently cheaper than their bacon..... A swap goes against their allergen policy.... And it would be creating a new menu.... at least this was the four different excuses I was given as to why they could not accommodate my allergy that they so neatly have cards printed for..... Swapping butter for olive oil in the spinach side is fine though Well at least that's what they told me this time round... Last time however nothing was two much trouble.... But then the head chef wasn't in, so clearly whoever was offering great customer service on that previous occasion was obviously breaking the rules. Shame as Christian the waiter was consistently good on both occasions and the food was nice the first time. This time didn't get to eat, whilst waiting for the many stages of in situ complaint restaurant manager, hotel manager etc (hence the many different excuses) I was then pressured into we only have one of the dishes I wanted left (Still early evening) I can only assume in an effort to shut me up. If I wanted to eat at a pre proportioned restaurant where every meal carefully matches the till, I would have gone to a Harvester. And had more choice.... Meat and salad are never a problem there at least. Oh and to add insult to injury, a complaint online after the fact takes two week for the same manager, Shauna I believe, to eventually respond to say sorry you were disappointed and we do not recall not being able to swap the spinach, well that as I said above is because you can make swaps but only if your head chef feels like allowing a customer to create a suitable alternative dish. Next time please actually read my written complaint. Pretty sure their website states a quicker response required, and Marco must be so proud of the extended attention to detail. This restaurant plays on a good chefs name and decent view it seems. But if you have allergies or food requirements so many better places to eat. Disappointing"

"Extremely disappointed and let down by our once favourite Japanese in Plymouth. We 've ordered from here for going on 8 years both collection and eating in, the food has always been great but our order today has been both incorrect and the response I got from the manager when I called up to discuss it was disgusting!! We ordered our usual that does not include any shellfish as my partner is highly allergic. Our order always has salmon and avo cut rolls for my partner due to his allergy, I didn 't mention this when order as I know nothing I order contains any sort of shellfish and I only have duck and/or chicken so know there is no risk of cross contamination for him. I called up and placed the order as usual, paying in full over the phone. Our order arrives and I see that we 've been given california rolls which of course contain crab which is a shellfish which means he 's very allergic to it. I call the restaurant to let them know of the error and see how they will rectify it, a very polite young girl answered and a very helpful, she said she 'd get the correct order out to us and took our address. I then receive a call back from the restaurant and its a male who is on the other end, he tells me they will not be bringing out our order unless we pay for delivery of £5. He also tells me that I am wrong and ordered california rolls not salmon and avocado, i explain I know I made no mistake due to the allergy of my partner and how I 've ordered the exact same as i have done for the past 8 years. He proceeds to scream at me down the phone telling me I am wrong, I will not be getting any refund even if we bring the food back because 'he is right ' and wrote down the order on his hand and is 'not wrong '. I asked to speak to the manager to which he explained he is the manager and proceeded to shout at me about how the hospitality industry isn 't a charity, I explained I also work in the industry and who would never speak to a customer in such a way. Again explaining why the order was wrong due to my partners allergies and how I know I didn 't order the shellfish he continued to shout more about how he didn 't and wouldn 't of made a mistake and I am wrong and will not be getting a refund or even an apology. I have never been so disgusted and disappointed by a restaurant and we unfortunately will never be returning due to the horrible way we 've been treated by the so called manager of Koishii plymouth."
