"We’ve been going to Zizzi for years and they’ve always delivered in terms of food, atmosphere and friendly service. This visit was exceptional, considering they were busy and although we hadn’t booked we were greeted by Marta and asked to sit in the bar area while they tried to get the table ready. We could see how busy they were and felt guilty for not booking in advance, regardless Marek the manager caught our eye and made a point of coming over to greet us and as apologetic, heaven knows why because we were the guilty party and it certainly wasn’t any fault of Zizzi’s but that shows how well trained they all are. Within 15 minutes we were taken to our table. For starters we had the King Prawn Spiedini and the Calamari while our friends ordered Chicken Spiedini and Caprese salad. Our mains were Hit-Smoked Salmon Pesto Risotto, King Prawn Linguine, Signature Beef Chianti Ragu and Casareccia Pollo Piccante. If you haven’t tried any of these dishes, I recommend you give it a try. I always like a bit if kick in my food and this was taken care of with their chilli oil which they bring to the table. Sadly we were all too full to try any of the desserts but the cappuccino’s were a real treat. Our friends who had never been there, couldn’t stop raving about the food and service, they both made a point and asked Marta who served us to get the manager over so they could pay him their compliment. On the way home they couldn’t stop talking about the food, comparing it to their local Italian and saying Zizzi was infinitely better and less expensive too. Yes it did bring a smile to my face.
